Email Troubles.

It seems as though my email has been hacked, so don't try sending anything to Kyrieru@hotmail.com.

If you have any technical difficulties with Kurovadis, use the email address provided on the site where you buy the unlock code.

As for the game, it's going fine. I keep running into one programming issue after another, but in the end they tend to be a result of my stupidity rather than anything else, so that's ok I suppose. The good news is that after I finish this game, I won't have to do much in the way of programming in a platformer for quite a while.

Back to work/sorting out email issues.

  3. I really don't get why people like messing with others so destructively on the internet...sure they can get away with it but that doesn't mean they SHOULD. I have an E-mail that's basically flooded with spam mail and it's beyond the point of no return, so I know how it is to loose an e-mail.

Other than that, glad to hear that your template is going to pay off greatly in the long run, just hope it isn't so in depth that all future platformer's you make will play exactly the same. (then again I'm sure you'll tweak stuff here and there over time)
I patiently anticipate the completion of your new game, and PLEASE don't rush it! =)

    1. Well, the idea is that there are certain things that will apply to every platformer I make, and some things that won't. So I'm making the most solid base that I can, and then making all the optional parts work independent of each other so that I can add or take away whatever I want without conflicts. That way, when I make a new game all I have to do is change a couple numbers in a list to change the way the game works (like physics, or whether the player has stats), and add or take away whatever optional aspects I want.

    2. Ah, makes perfect sense, thanks for clearing that up! If I ever get around to making some kind of game (probably would be some kind of side-scrolling platformer as well since they're so fun!) I'd probably end up copying that template idea as well.

  4. Maybe someone will counter-hack ;D

    As for the programming issues:
If you have any friends that know basic programming/configuration concepts and you trust, I highly suggest letting them look through the game/coding for the game on a regular basis.
I've done it/had it done on servers and websites, ect, and it really helps to have another set of eyes just scanning through it for out-of-place things.
An outside mind can notice things the creator might not!

    1. If your willing to show the engine for your Platforming H-Games to your coder friends, then more power to you, but that might be awkward for some people.

      Jus' saying.

    2. ...you know, I didn't figure that into the equation.
      Yeaaa...

    3. ...although he did get a voice actor that was even credited in the game.

    4. True enough. I wasn't being overly-cynical or anything, but I presume that he's mostly on his own in terms of coding.

He seems talented and bright enough to figure this stuff out by himself, believe me.

    5. Oh, yea, was just saying that it helps a lot to have that extra set of eyes ^.^"
Once you've spent hours looking at piles and piles of code arguments, everything can start to look the same, hehe.

But yea, might have trouble finding someone...suitable.

  5. I've been wondering why you haven't been replying!

Ah well, it's not like whatever I sent was all that great. Being rusty can do that...

    1. It wasn't bad, however I'm not really looking for any help, at the moment. Perhaps with future games, but for now there wouldn't really be any benefit to working with multiple people. I appreciate the offer, though.

    2. No problem, I appreciate that you take the time to reply! Actually, seeing as how far into development you are it makes sense that you won't need much help.

Also, thinking about it, there's a part of me that doesn't want to dilute your personal stamp in the game aesthetically plus possibly stunting your growth as a developing artist.

In the mean time I'll send you the occasional email for artwork/etc once you settle with email issues if you don't mind. Maybe you'd even get ideas from it?

Either way I plan on getting up to speed quickly and learning the ropes of game maker/sprite animation/etc on the side.

    3. And I was a game tester for Halo 4. Maybe I can offer my services! Lawl, naw. Just beat Kurovadis and it was AWESOME! Glad to see that the person that made it is still working on stuff. I was happy to pay $5 when I found out.

  7. Sucks that your email was hacked, but great news that you won't have to program much after the next game in terms of platforming! You must have a system/engine going, or a basic platformer template going on maybe, I don't know. It's good that you're working hard though ^-^

  8. Since sending you an E-mail is out of the question, I'm hoping that I'll be answered here. I've been interested in playing Kurovadis for a while now, and everytime I go to play the demo to test it, the only button that seems to work is Enter and the function buttons. The Arrows and letter buttons do not work. I currently have my computer set to a Japanese Localization and thought that might be the problem at first, then realized the Locazation shouldn't have any effect on arrows. Is there any special settings for this game that I should adapt my system for?

    1. I'm not sure, it's not an issue I've heard of anybody having before.

The only advice I can give you would be to try restarting your computer, or try using a gamepad, unfortunatly.
