In case you missed the last post, I'm taking a break from the current game to work on something short and simple.
And how is it going? Well, in the past few days I did a bunch of graphics, created a few enemies, and began programming the game's engine. Unfortunately, I quickly realized that for the type of game I wanted to make, less than a months work wasn't going to yield enough content for a full game due to the nature of the gameplay. So instead, I took everything I had done so far and started turning it into a platformer, using the template I've been building up.
And so, I'm back to doing a low-res platformer. Surprising, I know.
The game will have 3 levels, 9 H-oriented enemies, and 3 bosses, at the minimum. If I keep my current pace, I'll be finished by the end of this month. Though, it will probably take an extra week or two to do CGs, the soundtrack, and testing, but I don't really want to have a game without those.
To be honest, this is probably what I should have done in the first place. High res games just seem to wear me out. This, on the other hand, will be done before I get the chance.
And yes, the protagonist this time around is a guy.

ReplyDeleteDoes this mean this game is Gyaku? If it is so it would be awesome. Most h-games are mostly men-dominant and a game where there is femdom allows to think in other positions :D
ReplyDeleteAfter a quick lookup of the term Gyaku, doesn't it refer to pick up women? In which case, no. It's basically just like Kurovadis but reversing the genders, and any H oriented enemies are monster girls.

DeleteI've always planned on making a game with a male character at some point, it's just taken until now to get around to it.
That is some great inspiration. I'd gladly play some monster girl quest-based castlevania-like game. Especially if it won't be so horribly, horribly linear like the original. Though I realize that probably this minigame won't be THAT ambitious.
DeleteGiven your talent you should really plan in advance that a "big" project of yours should always be interrupted for "quick detours".

And on the "reverse rape" theme, to be honest I'm for gender equality in H-Games, if the protagonist loses, submits, if wins, dominates... seems fair, no? :D

DeleteVery interested in this, especially with a male protagonist dealing with lots of monster girls. You're really hitting on my preferences there, but I do like equity as well. Rape or be rape, part of the reason I joined CoC. A bit disappointed to hear that you won't be allowing that, but hey. That doesn't mean I can't have lots of fun with games that have wonderful gameplay with some really nice sex on the side.

ReplyDeleteI think this was done as spur of the moment rather than something he'd planned to do from now on, but I wouldn't be surprised if this happened relatively often.
DeleteIt's good being able to shift your focus around, that way if you get writers block on one thing you don't really have to worry, as you can always switch to something else and come back when the inspiration is flowing again :)
To be honest, I kinda like how the game presents itself. Simple but nice low-res sprites can be a great thing as long as animation is smooth. And with all those action H games lately (especially RoR kind) having female protagonist being abused by all kinds of things instead of a guy who could have tons of sexy female enemies, this tiny game actually brings some freshness.
ReplyDeletei personally have high hopes for the high'er res game, hoping that id get a good shot at my fetish on it which would be belly bulging or stomach distortion however you wanna say it (inflation isnt the same thing, for peeps who mix those up), kurovadis was decent with the doc-boss scene but sadly none on the dragon. :[
ReplyDeletei say decent because the low spriteness of the game enabled only so much detail, hence i mostly adored kurovadis from the gameplay perspective in which it did give me a good old NES gameplay feel.

(if you know how of course) or am i forsed to buy the game on my comp (thank you paypal lol) and play it on the other?

Deletemost h-games i seen/played that have males as the player are ether rapers (or getting raped lol) or he is treated like the girl (in that way as well) so i had to make the joke lol (for the record i'm not a fan of hermaphrodites/futa in h-games anyways) lol but yay cat girl :D

Dont like the IDea of only male charackter, I dont want to see a other man gets lucky with girls I want a strong figting girl get defeated and impregnated by the victors, thats the erotic thing monster rape suggests
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's the opposite. I'm not turned on by disgusting abominations and physical destruction of others, but I like Eroico because I can pretend I'm that man getting lucky.
DeleteTo balance it out, I must say I love the idea of male character. Some novelty in the genre dominated by yet another 'girl gets raped by stuff'. And I actually see such character as someone I can relate to far more than the girl, so I see it completely differently than anon above. Not to mention that (excluding lesbian stuff one can also get bored of at some point) male protagonist suggests lots of female enemies - and that's far better for me than one female and lots of males (humanoid or other).
ReplyDeleteKyrieru, for sake of everything that's good, remember to add gallery mode ! It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just way to see animations/cg of monsters/events.
ReplyDeleteActually, this kind of games usually has female as a player character being defeated and raped by enemies/monsters if player loses. There's whole genre of games you need to check out if that's your thing, Thunderdragon.
