In terms of length, I'd say Eroico is shorter than Kurovadis. However it has more CGs, 15 to Kurovadis's 9. There are a total of 3 levels, and 15 enemies with animations. Use that to consider if you feel like buying it or not, but also keep in mind that it will be funding the next game, as usual (I won't be using offbeatr, for now).
Buy the full version
(Make sure you download the updated demo first, since it's required anyway, what you're buying is an unlock file)

I'll be adding in a Gallery/arena esque thing in a future update (within the week). For now there is only a gallery for CGs. Feel free to bring up any bugs you encounter.
A major change from the previous version is that the upgrades do not increase attack power. It would have been unbalanced for players who missed them, so instead it increases your range, and gives the ranged attack various effects.
Bugs fixed: Screen continues to scroll in desert third area, last CG not viewable in gallery, other misc bugs.

I love you. <3
ReplyDeleteBought. Good doing business with you.
ReplyDeleteSo is this .dll unique to each person?
ReplyDeleteGuys, i can not download demo version, what should i do?
ReplyDeleteAwesomeness! Good job finishing it, Kyri! ^-^
ReplyDeleteBought and downloading, will play it soon. :3
Nice. Looking forward to playing when the download finishes.
ReplyDeleteHere's my money! Good luck with sales.
ReplyDeleteDlsite tomorrow, right?
ReplyDeleteNope, there's a bit of a delay before it goes up on DLsite when you submit something.
DeleteEven then, I'll have to go through and censor images, and I'll probably be doing multiple bug fixes before I upload it anyway.(updating submissions on DLsite is a bit of a hassle, so I tend to wait until it's more stable.)
I put the .dll inside the demo folder but it still didnt unlock the full game! help someone?
ReplyDeleteMake sure it's called eroico_unlock.dll
DeleteAlso make sure you use the newest demo, and not the old one.
Forget it, I figured out what was wrong lol
DeleteYea thats what was the problem, it was the old demo lol
DeleteLoving it so far, favorite so far has to be the Harpy in level 2...dat ass... :D
ReplyDeleteHowever I ran into a big error with the 2nd boss. I basically spammed all my magic (I had all 4 upgrades) then proceeded as normal and after several hits she disappeared. No biggie as I still am at the boss but just a heads up.
As for "Gallery" do you mean like an animated gallery along side the CG gallery? Cus that would be pretty awesome.
Also another bug, the current gallery the Final Boss's CG is that of the dragon girl. All of them show and are correct except that one.
DeleteWorks well so far, I've beaten the first level and am about to get into new territory.
ReplyDeleteI did find one small bug so far in the gallery. After completing the first level, I only died twice, once to a fairy, and once to the boss. Only their images where unlocked in the gallery. However, after looking at the fairy's image, for some reason the cat girl's image became unlocked for some reason. It seems to be permanently unlocked, and persists on separate start ups.
So far main complaint is on the second level. There is a huge gap between when you hit a check point and when you have to do three jumps on red cubes from a mobile platform while being shot at by the blue diamond.
ReplyDeleteIs there something I'm missing about the red cubes because I can't get enough jump from them to get high enough to get past this point. It is getting annoying to have to spend five minutes getting back to this part each time.
Your best bet there is to use a normal slash to reach the farther ones, then using the down slash to get the height. Its going to take some practice, took me quite some time there.
DeleteYeah I'm starting to get the hang of it. Just a really long gap in save points. Kind of frustrating in itself.
DeleteAaaannnddd it didn't save my progress. Yay for starting over.
DeleteOkay, I found a rather serious issue. In the second level third area, if you walk all the way to the right just before the screen change, and then go back, the camera glitches out and will not follow your character down. You then have no idea where your character is or how to continue. The building then disappeared for me, but I have no idea why.
ReplyDeleteAnyone know why I didn't get my file? I put in all the paypal information right and such but I haven't gotten the email yet. I'm a little worried I might have just shelled out $5 for air.
ReplyDeleteI've experienced a similar problem. I made sure to download the demo. I put in the proper into. My purchase was confirmed but I wasn't offered a download button and my inbox AND spam folders are still empty. Anyone know what's going on?
DeleteSend an email to Kyrieru with your receipt attached, he'll set you up with the download.
DeleteDid you hit "back to overture" link after purchase was complete? You get the unlock file from there. Then just stick the unlock into the demo folder.
ReplyDeleteOh shit. I didn't and the session timed out. Does that mean I have to pay again if I want it or did it not take my money?
DeleteSend an email to Kyrieru with your receipt attached, he'll set you up with the download.
DeleteDone. Hope things work out since I love Kyrieru's work.
DeleteI'm sitting here at the receipt screen and there's no back to overture link for me... It just cuts off after the transaction ID. Freakin' weird.
DeleteBetter send off an email.
Nope, no link to return to the site.
DeleteHave you sent me an email? I can send you the link.
DeleteHopefully the DLSite version will come soon, because I hate PayPal and PayPal hates me back. No matter what cards I use it simply won't process the purchase. I've literally triple-checked all my information each time the process fails and there is nothing glaringly obvious on my end. I sent an e-mail to PayPal, but this will probably take longer than it would for the DLSite version to come out (even though I honestly don't want it). I had the same problem when I was trying to throw a donation, the cards I used would not be accepted. I really don't like PayPal and I closed my account due to certain concerns, so I'm not intending to open another one anytime soon. Though, I don't think it necessarily matters either; even when I had an account my cards never worked. My cards work on Steam and DLSite but PayPal likes to be a special group for whatever reason.
ReplyDeleteDont know if this is your problem but anyway.
DeleteIf your using a prepaid card you probably have to register it with the prepaid/gift cards web site before it will work with certain vendors.
Kyrieru, as much as I want to support your new game, I just can't see myself really getting into a male protagonist. I love Kuro ^_^, Keep up the good work. Is there a way I can just see the CG? I'm quite interested in that at least, love the art style.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with a male protagonist?
DeleteNothing, glad we get to play a male character for once. Getting tired of the same arch types.
DeleteNothing is bad about it, I just like the Female Protagonist that Kyrieru does in his games.
DeleteFound two more bugs. First is in the final area on level two just before the boss, the screen kept scrolling to the right even though I was at the end of the area for some reason, giving me just the desert background to the right of the area's end.
ReplyDeleteSecond is during the second boss, if she teleports into a place where the PC is standing, she'll disappear commpletely, making the stage impossible to finish.
Bought it and beat it. Loved it. I'm sitting here trying to guess which animations were done by a different artist. I'm guessing the Harpy and maybe the Lizard Woman.
ReplyDeleteA small bug; in the first checkpoint in the last level if you jump as your exiting you end up stuck in the wall on the next screen.
Also what's up with the voice option in the options menu? It doesn't see to do anything. Is it a relic of a dropped feature?
DeleteI just finally beat the first boss (I've spammed my magic at her..) The 2nd stage is really nice especially the harpy ladies ohohoho! I would love it more if their was any story behind this game - looks to me like a noble kid slaughtering half-women monsters for the greater good!
ReplyDeleteEither way I am enjoying myself and thank you for making yet another good quality game.
I sent you an email asking for some assistance. I lost the page leading to the download link for the unlock file after purchasing it. For reference, I'm the idiot.
ReplyDeleteI bought the game, but oddly when the payment went through I didn't get the "Go Back" link... guess I'll just have to buy TWO copies!
ReplyDeleteOr, failing that, well you should have a payment from an 'Aegina Artwaltz' to confirm I did indeed pay, but I did not get the proper link, oddly.
Bought the game and fuck you, the second level DIFFICULT sucks.
ReplyDeleteHas anyone tested this game before you released it? OF COURSE fucking not.
"So far main complaint is on the second level. There is a huge gap between when you hit a check point and when you have to do three jumps on red cubes from a mobile platform while being shot at by the blue diamond."
And everything about the 2nd level sucks. Do you even know how to balance difficulty levels?
It's not really that hard. Then again some people are just not that good at platformers. *Shrugs*
DeleteIt wouldn't so hard if the lasers weren't constantly shooting at you messing up your jumps in an already very tricky jumping platform section.
DeleteGames are hard, man. Ky clearly knows a bit about game design, but being a solo designer probably won't hold your hand like major developers.
DeleteMany have beaten it, so it isn't impossible. C'mon, step it up.
This ain't "I Wanna Be The Guy" ya' know!? I playing demo and I WANT to buy this. don't understand paypal or online doohickeys.
DeleteFor some reason none of my attacks even hit the final boss. Not sure if it's a bug, or if I'm just doing something wrong.
ReplyDeleteIf you have played Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. Think back to the Ganon fight :D
DeleteNot sure what you were smoking to conceieve the distance between check-points in this game to be a sane idea. Most of the time, it is a matter of trial-and-error as you have countless situations of not seeing where you're going and ending up running into damage at every turn which smacks you around, possibly off high platforms and having one's progress be denied with only 30+ minute gaps is retarded.
ReplyDeleteDoes the red/blue bar do anything?
ReplyDeleteFound a bug. Selecting the final boss's CG in the gallery shows the dragon girl's CG instead. Currently, the final boss's CG doesn't seem to be viewable in the gallery, aside from the thumbnail anyway.
ReplyDeletei can't play this game at all, as soon as i get to the 2nd rotating spike thing, the controls lock up/lag or just won't respond,
ReplyDeleteplease Kyrieru i need some help with this, i want to play/buy your games but it is hard for me to do so when i can't even play without it messing up,
i think it's because my comp can't play flash games (it does the same when i try to play said flash games anyways) do you know any way how i can fix it?
might be obvious, but did you try and update all your drivers (vid card especially), win updates and such
Deletehonestly idk how to check/update that^^|
DeleteIf your using win xp or later, I would just run windows update as it should update various drivers on your computer along with windows stuff, look for the windows update somewhere in your start menu. Sometimes the vid card driver is an optional down load, choose to select updates manually and see the manifest of possible updates and make sure the vid card update is checked, if there is one.
DeleteYou could also try checking the manufacturers web site for the make and model of the computer your using, to see if there are any updates, if windows update doesn't help. If your using a custom built computer and the vid card is integrated on the motherboard then you will have to find out what the make and model of board you are using and check it out at the appropriate site.
Finished the game now, it does seem a bit short, but hey, it was fun. Now I've got to try it again on hard. My thoughts on the difficulty:
ReplyDelete-The first level felt to me like it was the hardest. This is mainly due to the enemy placement, infrequency of health pickups, and the shear amount of frustration that the goo girls can give. When played on Normal difficulty, the boss sorta felt rather trivial since I just had so much health.
-Second level had by far the most annoying platforming in it. However, baring the last section right before the boss, this didn't actually slow me down since I had so much health, and the health drops where very generous (unlike the first level) that even taking several hits on those segments left me fine for later parts. The boss again felt rather weak since she simply doesn't deal all that much damage to me compared to how quickly I can take out her health.
-Third stage felt to me that it was the easiest of the three. While it does have some annoying platforming, by this point I'd gotten pretty good at the stuff, and a mistake or two didn't cost me much given how much health I had at this point (I got all the health powerups). Other then the lizard girl, the enemies here where more interesting and difficult then other areas to avoid attacks, but again, I had so much health by this point that it was a non-issue. The boss was pretty clever, and it took me awhile to figure out how to win, but I did catch on thanks to remembering how to beat Iji. I do think that it was probably a bad idea to throw that in there without some other point in the game where you used the technique. I was never really worried about losing that fight, since I'd memorized the attack pattern pretty fast, and as before, had a lot of health.
So, I guess the short story of it is, too little health in the first level, too much at the end? Also, you should probably remove that damn shot tower in the second last room of the second level. That makes the platforming unnecessarily difficult.
Agreed on the blue crystal tower. It would be a fine level and I was enjoying it up until that room. I hadn't quite gotten the hang of using the red blocks yet, and the shot tower is just making it really frustrating to do.
Delete@DarkMaster - Maybe you should have played the game on hard mode, all damage takes a quarter of your life instead of just an eighth of it. Even in hard mode though I did find the boss battles to be a little easy.
DeleteLook at the first line in my post.
DeleteYeah but what I'm suggesting is you go back in time, erase your memory, and then play it on hard mode. Perfectly sensible.
DeleteAlso if you're interested, the first two parameters in the save slot txts are your max health and your current health. So if you edit them to 1 you can play the game in extreme mode were everything kills you in one hit.
I'm planning on doing two more runs in the future. One on hard collecting all powerups, and one on hard with no powerups.
Delete/purchased. Keep up the great work.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to more Sci-Fi+Female protagonist.
Purchased (35640613L7634912Y). I think you are pretty smart...
ReplyDeleteIf the game was expensive, I would've just torrented it.
But 5 bucks? srsly that's not a big deal.
You have good marketing talant. good luck with your other projects.
Bought it, and so far I love it. One thing that maybe should have been implemented in the difficulty setting, is how much platforming you have to do. Because this is by far the thing that I'm struggling with the most - most enemies feel about right in terms of difficulty. But that part in Level 2 where you have to hit diamond blocks in order to get higher, while a laser tower is shooting at you, has had me stuck for almost an hour now :/ Maybe I'm just horrendously bad at platformers, but this I must admit is starting to frustrate me a little.
ReplyDeletebuy plaing.
ReplyDeleteThank you good game make.
I want the dot movie galary. possible?
can you make add checkpoints...
ReplyDeleteeven in easy mode if you die have to start from the beginning...
Bug in area # 58, jumping while exiting to the right will place you out of bounds in the next area due to there being no wall in the save zone, while there's a wall in the next area.
ReplyDeleteDude what is with this atrocious difficulty even on easy... I am not playing castlevina here... At least some checkpoints would be nice...
ReplyDeleteReally, the big feature that I think is missing right now is a level select feature unlocked when you finish the game, along with a high score tracker for whatever your best time and fewest hits is on a given level.
ReplyDeleteI just bought your game, Kyrieru! I'm just playing Easy mode since I'm in it for the animations and unlocking them all. Once you get through the most frustrating parts of the game (the jumping through "attack blocks" or something to get to the next rooms), and finish the game, it's all worth it.
ReplyDeleteJust one question, though; how do you freakin' kill the last boss? None of my attacks seem to do any damage! Help please~ *innocent smile*
Please reply to my e-mail: flodur92-main@yahoo.com
Thanks!
This game is worth $5. Heh.
Also, please include in your blog the difference between updates, so we'd know what you changed. Thanks!
DeleteOh, no, wait, I just got it. Thanks UnknownFox!
DeleteAnyway, I would like to suggest again that maybe unlock all CGs once you defeat the last boss? That's so people would be interested to speed run without dying after every new enemy just to get the CGs. *grin*
Bought the game, really like it.
ReplyDelete+1 fan, looking forward to your next work!
BUG: At one time a vampire was sucking my blood and I got hit by another monster, and the vampire dissapeared.
Great game,I loved this game even if certain passage was difficult thing as in level 2. If the trick to defeat the last boss is a good idea! I wait for the next game!
ReplyDelete-The game fades to black for half a second at the start of the desert stage(around the first barbarian).
ReplyDelete-Happened to keep power ups and health when starting hard mode right after beating normal. Also when you power-up at max it reverts your power level back to zero.
-It may be more helpful if laser towers had a charge up animation.
-Sadly ghosts don't get any love.
-Level 2 boss disappeared while being hit during a teleport.
DeleteIf he were to do a ghost that ghost would have to rip his soul out of his body and take him by force in that state, possess him, or mind-rape him with unending illusions (with interface screw added?) or something along those lines i think.
DeleteAnd? I don't see a problem.
Deletenever said there was a problem. just an attempt to guess what it would be like if it was done.
DeleteGreat game, though a bit frustrating since I suck at platformers. Is there any way I could get a hold of the soundtrack? I like the music a lot!
ReplyDeleteFound a minor bug, Kyri: if you die and land on a heart, you'll be alive and able to keep playing, but the music will stop.
ReplyDeleteum how much time and money did this game take to make?
ReplyDeleteIt took no money, because I made it all myself. It didn't take long, but I didn't work on it as much as I could have, so it was stretched out over numerous months.
Deletethanks for responding and I like this game.
DeleteI enjoy the game demo, I am looking forward to purchasing the full version.
ReplyDeletedoesnt work for my card, can you find some other payment methods ?
ReplyDeleteIf you have a DLSite acc you can wait till it's released there
Deletehave to admit i'm fairly disappointed with this one, much shorter than the first one and wasn't nearly as fun.
ReplyDeleteAlso some of the game play mechanics are extremely cleaver and i hope to see more of these ideas from you.
"I don't like this game. but I like this game. keep it up."
DeleteWut. Tis a good game! He said before this was a 'small project'. I'm sure the next one will be more Kurovadis-esq.
When you press H at the boss it starts glitching on top of you as it can't rape you with full health.
ReplyDeleteRandom question. Would you ever consider taking commissions on adding new animations/monstergirls into current and future games?
ReplyDeleteI don't plan on it, no.
DeleteAh, a shame but thanks for replying. Love the game and despite what some people say I love your nes difficulties.
DeleteIt may be shorter because there's no backtracking, but it was just as enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to see your CG improving a bit.
My favorite character was definitely the siren singing her song as projectiles, it was unexpected to see her doing doggy style in-game but her CG wasn't.
Those ghosts are real cuties too, it's a shame they don't do much outside of being cute and bumping into you.
Anyway thanks for the fun game, I'm looking forward to your next one.
despite the difficulty and lack of checkpoints i like it so far
ReplyDeleteone minor disappointment was that the CG does not always depict the same 'position' as the in-game animation, and some aren't H altogether
other than that love your works (Kurovadis is just too hard to beat :p)
looking forward to future projects
Great job man. It played very smoothly and looked great. The stages were quite good and the placement of the checkpoints seemed fine to me. Since you can't go back, the lack of checkpoints let me collect the CGs easily. The enemies were nice and varied. It was all around a wonderful game. Three thumbs up.
ReplyDeleteMy only regret though is that I'm good at platformers and stuff so I found the game laughably easy and far too short...
On a side note, I swear you read my mind. I was actually thinking "She's cute, I wish I could "fight" her"... then I reached the last checkpoint. You are awesome.
Purchased! Can't wait to play it! Demo was a lot of fun :)
ReplyDeleteSmall bug, if you die and then hit a health pick up, the game becomes confused if you're alive or not. The music stops and your character will not be able to get back up, but the press start button message will not come up, and hitting the enter key will bring up the normal menu. That means no game over screens.
ReplyDeleteNext, I've noticed that some of the enemies in the later parts of the game do not drop those sparkles that you use to upgrade your attack. Is this an oversight?
I do not have a credit card and paypal.
ReplyDeleteI am glad if you sell by DLsite last time similarly.
I feel sorry in awkward English.
Yes, the game will be sold on DLsite.
DeleteOnce we buy it now, do we need to make another payment for future updates or is the password going to be the same?
ReplyDeleteThe password will always be the same, and buying it through DLsite will let you buy it from here.
DeleteBuying through DLsite will let you download it from here*
DeleteAttempted to get through the first level, the main flaw I found is that killing enemies doesn't benefit you at all.
ReplyDeleteIt turns into a "avoid them all" because it's less of a hassle, seeing they damage you at touch, which I also think is a primitive concept we have progressed from. Kurovadis did not have this, so why does Eroico? Anyway, Easy mode should not have hurt-on-contact. It's frustrating when you block, but get hurt anyway cause they touched you. It may make sense for an enemy like the Slime (you get poisonous residue on you), but definitely not normal enemies like a mere Catgirl.
My main idea is that enemies should be able to drop health restore items (at least in Easy mode). That would fix the entire difficulty issue where Easy isn't actually "easy", you just get more hits before you die. It would also give the player an actual reason to kill enemies.
This is from someone who beat kurovadis on a tough difficulty; Eroico is just "Nintendo Hard". And before I get flamed for "not being skilled enough", let's remember that difficulty settings should also bring different game behavior, like the points I suggested, instead of "the same exact gameplay difficulty with more lives".
Oddly enough, people complained that in Kurovadis you could touch enemies and not get hurt.
DeleteI agree with you on this though, Anon. I don't like the idea that bumping into someone deals the same damage as if they'd shot you with a fireball.
Kurovadis has it right, let us jump off enemies heads! The only reason it was 'bad' in Kurovadis was because it was exploitable. You jump on someone's head and punch their brain until they die. Awesome as that is, it made the game a bit easy.
Just adding a tiny "Get off my head" attack to each enemy would suffice. Or, to save in animating time, simply increase the size of the attacking hitboxes of enemies to smack anyone loitering on their head too long.
Nice game! Brings back nostalgia. Ah... The legend of Zelda: ocarina of time. Thanks kyrieru. I don't suppose you can upload the music from the game? The boss theme is amazing.
ReplyDeleteGame is way too hard imho.
ReplyDeleteare there any other save states besides 3 31 34 33 49 63 58 60, find it hard to think the last 3 would be right before hte last boss and a hellish platforming murder fest
I even cheated using save editing and can't get the last 3 CG's (or even encounter their enemies, due in part to the giant clustfuck jumping puzzle with blocks and spikes)
It either needs a save after every level or to be toned down with an super easy modo.
Games are hard, man. Gamers today are losing their edge.
DeleteThis game was a nice challenge. It was not hard.
The developers blog is probably not the best place to say this but...
DeleteYou can just open prog.dll in notepad, set all 0's to 1's and that unlocks all CG's.
It would be nice to have an option to change keypad buttons
ReplyDeleteThere actually is! Under Options > Keyboard
Deleteyeah for the keyboard but i'm trying to change it for the Keypad it self :-/
DeletePlayed through the game, and overall I enjoyed it, even if it was pretty hard. (I had a bit of trouble even on easy mode... ^_^; ). The combat was intuitive and satisfying. The loss scenes were cute and funny. The platforming was tight and enjoyable... With one glaring exception!
ReplyDeleteThe red jump boxes were clunky and annoying. The main attack in this game is too slow and with a too long delay between uses to be a good trigger for precision jumping. Pretty much every major red-block section was frustrating and tiresome. If the trigger for the red boxes was something more precise than the main attack, they might have been enjoyable, but as it is it was just a pain.
Other than that, pretty good game.
Games these days don't have enough difficulty. The red block jumping sections were a fun challenge, and the attack animation is JUST fast enough to accomplish what it needs to.
DeleteIf you're just trying to downslash all the blocks, it is extremely hard. I found doing a horizontal slash to a block (Which still kicks you skyward) then a downslash was more reliable.
So, I climbed the tower with horizontal, then downslashes. My only gripe in that segment was somehow triggering a special "Downstab" maneuver akin to the Zelda games - which would lock my controls until I hit the ground.
I'm japanese . Sorry for poor English. I want to play this game. but I started this game , I can choose only "end"menu!! controller don't move. How I start the game? please tell me .
ReplyDeleteIf you have a gamepad connected, try disconnecting it, that's what causes that problem for me. Otherwise I have no idea. I can't get any of my two gamepads to work with the game unfortunately.
DeleteCan try a program called 'MotionJoy'. Third party chinese developed, which is a bit sketchy but it works.
DeleteIt basicly emulates a connected Wireless Xbox 360 controller in place of a USB-connected PS3 controller. (It may do the same with other controllers, not sure.)
Both Kurovadis and Erocio worked with this method.
Thank you. I read previous post with dictionary. I noticed that number in Config data was wrong. And controller problem was solved by "joytokey" application.
Deletebug. after raped , player's attack doesn't hit.
DeleteWhat you mean in wrong number in Config data. I have same problem. but I use Joytokey and only can push button 1 to confirm on exit.
DeleteOh goodie, now you may take your toll in filthy lucre for these fine services rendered.
ReplyDeletePlayed it and finished it, all in all I like it. But I also have some attempts at constructive critisism:
ReplyDelete1. It's a little too hard even on Easy. Especially the first level. Like someone else suggested, perhaps you can hire betatesters who can determine if the game's difficulty is fine or not. I like a hard game as much as the next guy, but easy should not be that hard. Weird thing though, the first few times I started the game it ran really quickly, but the last couple of times I started it it ran much slower, thus lowering the difficulty significantly. I have no idea what caused this. Is it because I unlocked the full game perhaps?
2. The combat system. A lot of the difficulty comes down to this. When you slash with the sword you have to wait for the rather slow animation to end before you can do anything, which often causes especially the goo girl's slime ball to hit you. To me it would be better if the slashes were short like in Zelda: A Link to the Past. Now I'm not saying you have to make everything like Zelda but when you do this sort of game you kind of paint yourself into a corner. Also I think it would be better if the shield was always on when not attacking like in Zelda. The combat would be less varied of course but maybe you can make it an option too. There is the dodge function, that I know other H-games employ as well, but it feels very unintuitive. As has been mentioned it's often better risk/reward to just jump over many of the enemies.
3. There should be a tutorial or a screen that explains the controls. When I started playing I had no idea how to use the shield or the magic attack. Perhaps people who have problems with the difficulty are in the same situation.
4. The H-anims are a bit too similar imo, and I miss the voice acting from Kurovadis. I have high hopes for the next game in this area though.
Hope I don't sound too negative, I like the game I just want it to be as good as possible. Looking forward to the next one!
2. Blocking (Press and hold Down), and Jump-Slashes. You can move in air while slashing. Just standing flatfoot and hammering attack isn't so great. I'd say the combat is more akin to the (Surprise) metroidvania games. Standing and slashing = Locked in place. Jumping while slashing = Movement while attacking.
DeleteYou can also do tiny jumps while attacking, as landing will 'cancel' the animation, but damage occurs instantly.
And here I am talking about jump canceling attack animations in an H-Game. (An awesome one, granted.) This world we live in. @_@
My Wireless Xbox 360 controller was not working with the demo but I figured it out:
ReplyDeleteGo to Control Panel --> Hardware and Sound --> Devices and Printers --> Right Click on Xbox 360 Controller --> Game Controller settings
And make sure this is set to this:
It was set to "NONE" before. I dunno why.
Love the game, was a big fan of Kurovadis as well. Putting in my two cents...
ReplyDeleteI think that escaping from "holds" is too easy (even more so with a gamepad). I think that the frustration and difficulty of getting out of a pin would add to the experience.
Minor bug: if you hit a powerup space while one or more of the sparkles dropped by the enemies are homing in on the PC, they'll fly into the air along with the ones you pay for the power up. Then once the animation finishes, they'll come back down a little while later.
ReplyDeleteSmall bug I noticed. In level 2, if you are knocked down or die past the first checkpoint, harpies don't seem to initiate their H animations. I made it all the way there without dying the first time through, and when I tried to get the harpy CG, none of them would initiate their animation, even if they were the only enemy present. Haven't seen any issue from the first half of stage 2, or any from stage 3 regarding harpies.
ReplyDeleteGood work man, please don't listen to the people complaining about the difficulty... too many games made for babies nowadays. I can't help to laugh when people say this is too hard but they beat it in a couple of days. They don't really know what a hard game is. To all the complainers: use this game to man up and level up your game. Think instead of button mashing, you don't need to be a super human to clear it just fine.
ReplyDeleteWhich version are you referring to? Because in the initial release there was a major choke point in the 2nd level.
Delete^This. A thousand times this.
DeleteThis game was right where it needed to be in difficulty. Maybe even a bit tougher.
People just whine because game Devs these days handhold -everyone- for -everything- and treat their audience like complete and total morons. As a result? The audience has dumbed down.
Ky is doing a service by releasing games that can at times make me shake my controller.
Uh, because the game is hard.
Incredible as always; gameplay was fun, difficult but at just the right level imo. The only feedback I have is regarding the H-content; all of the animations in level 1 were kind of bad, but the animations from level 2 were absolutely incredible.
ReplyDeleteAlso, it seems like the CG was done by two separate artists. The original artist (the one that did the cat girl) was really good, but the other one I felt was a lot worse.
The only thing I would say about the difficulty is that it would be nice if you were rewarded in some way with a different ending or bonus CG for beating the game on Hard.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great idea for future games or updates. Give extra CGs / animations or levels / bosses for harder difficulty levels or special skillful feats (like no missing or beating a level in a certain amount of time).
DeleteWhen you actually go to release the game on the DL Site, I would strongly recommend that you include a file that shows all of the special actions that you can make with a visual representation, like this:

No language barrier, and this way everyone knows what the command inputs are.
I agree. At the very least have a txt file explaining the controls.
Deleteon difficulty: Maybe instead of scaling player/enemy health with difficulty,
ReplyDeleteshould it affect the game speed instead?
I found that if I put the game on fullscreen, I have a reasonable chance of surviving,
simply because that gives me an extra couple of milliseconds to react,
as my VM can't run the game in realtime and upscale at the same time.
IMHO, this is less game-modifying than making enemies fall over after 1-2 hits
(you never learn to block with that), and has the advantage that it makes the complex
chain jumps easier, too.
But in general: Great game! The few checkpoints take some getting used to,
but eventually it works - you just learn to get a bit farther every time.
Maybe the last boss should have a portion of classic hack-at-it-with-a-sword
simply so it doesn't feel quite as railroad-scripted, but it works.
Where's the obvious mind-control enemy? ;-)
Wasn't the Siren mind control? Or were you referring to a boss?
DeleteI've been looking forward to this game for a few months now. Glad to see its release!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it a lot. Short, but sweet, as they say.
I run on a double monitor setup and when I don't have the game's window as active (for isntance, while I type this as the game continues to run) the game still responds to hotkeys. If I hit enter or escape while in another program, Eroico will pause/unpause or exit completely. I lost a lot of progress on my first playthrough because of this.
I would love to see some kind of h-scene combinations in the future. For example, a catgirl getting you while you're incapacitated by a blue goop ball, or a harpy getting you while under a siren charm. Alternate stuff like that would add a lot!
I really like the soundtrack and would love to have the bgm in a playable form. Will you make this available for purchasers in the future?
Thanks again!
Adult content option an intentional form of difficulty? I've noticed that with adult content off the character can't get knocked down thus eliminating the annoyances that come with that like getting knocked off or into undesirable locations.
ReplyDeleteif someone can give me the BGMS i will love that.
ReplyDeleteA small complaint, not too big though. As far as difficulty is concerned I found that the last level was unfortunately mediocre. I'm horrid at platrforming so the first two levels were a challenge, but I noticed something about both, while the first level was combat oriented, the second was based on actual platforming. It also felt good that the last level combined these, but it was too easy. By this point anyone who had passed the other 2 levels had gained a considerable amount of skill in both dispatching enemies with the multiple moves and with the red block jumping, which made the last level really easy to deal with. Only complaint though, 'twas a great game overall!
ReplyDeleteReally great game! Just awesome.
ReplyDeleteShort, but as kurovadis, I think it will be fun to play it twice or more.
Just a little thing: I think that having the animations in the gallery may be good.
But at least, it's just great and fun to play.
^ This please. Galley should have a little corner for the sprite animation as well.
DeleteIs there some reason noone is willing to elaborate on how the heck you beat the last boss on here or something? I see all these references to Zelda but I've never played the game and have no idea WTF to do.
ReplyDeleteHit her attack back at her.
Delete@Kyrieru
ReplyDeleteFirst of all - I bought both games! I hope it will help you a bit in making new ones.
In both games there is no scene replay/gallery for sprites animation. Please release them.
Both games don't have any manual. At least README with all controls will be great.
@Kyrieru
ReplyDeleteI didn't get a link so I sent my recipt.
really great game, loved every minute of it.
ReplyDeleteand to all of you people whining about the platform difficulty you seriously haven't tried meatboy this game is cakewalk compared to it.
@Kyrieru
i have suggestion for your future projects maybe, why not make it when the protagonist is defeated and theres more than one monster they can do a threesome trust me it will sell;)
Great game, aside from futanari, monster girls assaulting weak males kind of games are my second favorite, so this one was perfect. Gave up on the spike section though... too frustrating...
ReplyDeleteHope you make another one like this in the future. ^^
Hey can you do something with the sound in the game? The game is very good but it sucks without BGM and sound effect in it.
ReplyDeleteIn what sense? The game has sound, check the options to make sure it's turned on.
DeleteHey... I was wondering if anyone knew how you could mod Eroico. I'm a big fan of it and knowing how to mod would be amazing, thanks.
ReplyDeleteThere isn't, since the game doesn't rely on external resources.
DeleteJust purchased the game myself (I do love this game a lot) however, I'm not sure what happened but the game is running at like 10 frames a second now. Do you know any trick to fix that or is my computer just being dumb? It would work fine before but now suddenly wants to move slow.
ReplyDeletesame here. I'd like to know the solution for this because everything I did that have possible thing that cause lag is useless.
DeleteTry restarting your PC. No Joke.
DeleteI know this works with at least one cause of lag, because it's happened to me before and I have no idea what causes it.
