Sparks!
Right now I'm in the process of finishing all the H animations,
In Eroico, the animations were adequate but they definitely felt kind of stock at times. There were a lot of side views, and even the sound was a bit mediocre. This time, I've put a bit more effort into the H-animation in general, though they have been taking longer. (2 animations for a boss can take up to a day -__-)
In total, there will be 6 enemies (with H-animations) in the demo, and one boss. Once the game is complete, including the bosses there are around 18 enemies with H animations.
So when is the damn game going to be done?
Looking at the way things are going, and how long the game is taking even without CGs, I may end up releasing the game without CGs initially, and then add CGs in the following week. The initial version would cost $4, and the final version would be the regular $5. (Any version could update, of course)
However, this depends on how long it takes to get to the finished state in the first place. I only want to release an "early" version if I absolutely have to.
After the "final" version is released, unlike Eroico and Kurovadis, I plan on going back and adding in more content. Mostly stuff that doesn't need to be there, but enhances the experience, such as random rooms with various interactions.
That's all the info I've got for now, so it's off to work again.
Nice to see another update; keep up the good work! Not many hentai game developers out there of your calibre.
ReplyDelete18 enemies!? Shit, that's a lot of content. I support this.

ReplyDelete18 enemies!? Shit, that's a lot of content. I support this." and "After the "final" version is released, unlike Eroico and Kurovadis, I plan on going back and adding in more content." this game will probably be the best H-platformer game that I have ever played I will gadly put the 5$ to buy this game with all the effort u put into a game 5$ is a really low cost
I think it's a really smart move. These days it's impossible to stop people from sharing a game. At $5 though, it encourages people to pay for it even if they get a shared copy.
DeleteA price that's reasonable tends to encourage people to financially support an artiest they like. Instead of lurking and waiting for a shared copy they can easily acquire one with some pocket change.
Also fans that feel the game is worth more can always give more with the donation button.
In the entertainment industry the most important thing is having people who actually pay attention to your work.
Silly question. What is the name of this game anyway? I can't call it "the game from the guy who made Kurovidas and Erioco"
ReplyDeleteI still don't know....-___-
DeleteI just hope it doesn't have "forever" in the title.
DeleteKyrieru. Eroico. Kurovadis. What do these names have in common? They're fucking difficult to pronounce.
DeleteBut that doesn't matter, because no matter how many vowels you slip on, I know Goubodiasia will be the best game yet.
Any ETA on the demo release?
ReplyDeleteAlready plan on buying, and you keep giving me more reasons.
ReplyDeleteIf you release an early CG-less game, could buyers pay the full $5 then? Or would they have to wait and pay $4, then $1 when the next build comes out? I'd rather pay for your game with a single transaction, it seems more straightforward.
ReplyDeletePeople buying the early version would get all future updates. They wouldn't have to pay the extra $1
DeleteI'm not really fond of "adding extras once it's out", I'd rather wait for the very final version before playing it, but if it's worth it maybe it can get me to pick it up again once beaten I guess. (Or I could just buy the early build and wait before playing it, but I know I wouldn't be able to resist more than the CG week.)
ReplyDeleteArent you losing a lot of money charging $1 less? Just charge $5. Its not a lot to ask and CGs arent worth the amount youre subtracting at such a tiny price scale.
ReplyDeleteYes, I would be losing a lot of money. However I think the consumer should get the better of the deal if they're buying an early version of a game.
DeleteFROM THE CREATORS OF PLATFORMERS SUCH AS KUROVADIS AND EROICO: SCI FI QUEST NOW AT 20% DISCOUNT WITH EARLY ACCESS (greenlighted by steam)
DeleteWhen you feel the game is ready i will be throwing my money at the screen. You know best. An early version would be fine aswell.
ReplyDeleteIf that's an in-game shot? You've done a lot to make it look very pretty. Can't wait to play it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, just charge the full $5, considering most of your followers will buy it ASAP. No reason to lose out on a buck, and I doubt a dollar will make or break it for anyone. Especially with more content on the way.
What kind of extras would you think of adding? Would it be like extra power-ups or would it be like, bonus H-scenes or something of the sort?
ReplyDeleteWill there be an adult content on and off switch?
ReplyDelete(Unpopular question of the day.)
Kyrieru in the future, are you planning to make anymore games featuring Kuro?
ReplyDeletePrevious blogs (or blog replies) have mentioned a sequel to Kurovadis on the soon™ (see: eventually) table.
DeleteWhether or not Kuro was the playable character or a cameo appearence with someone else taking the lead, I don't remember...
Can't wait! I will be buying as soon as its out for sure :D Thanks for producing such good work
ReplyDeleteBig fan, I wonder if you could add a ''Pay What You Want++'' or ''+Donate'' option that starts at 4-5 USD? It might rack in a bit more revenue from fans! I plan to buy your new game once it releases!
ReplyDeleteShould do that for Kurovadis to drum up new sales =D
DeleteFor an extra $5 you can have the Erioco and Kurovadis bundle skin pack
DeleteIf the money for your games gives you time to work on the next one, then how would this affect your future production? It might give you less time to polish the next product to your liking and force another early release.
ReplyDeleteThat much money would only effect development if I took a long time to release another game after this one is completed, which I don't really see happening again. I won't be trying another high-res or story based game until I'm well prepared, because those are the kinds of projects that really screwed me over this year.
DeleteAfter this project is completed, I plan on doing an (actually) short term project with another artist, with him doing most of the graphics. Either that, or another solo linear game, but with much higher quality than Eroico, given that I wouldn't be making it in a pinch like I was at that time.
Your pixel art is ridic good, though. Hart to see how an artist could top that if they'e also doing the H images or vice versa.
DeleteThat said, are you more likely to hire a pixel artist or one for H images?
Every little image teases me sooooo much. Can't wait for this.
ReplyDeleteKIRYERU! >.< I! LOVE! YOU! Q.Q Please marry me! XD
ReplyDeleteSo when you finish this game will you go back to the one you stopped working on to make this or a whole new project?
ReplyDeleteI won't be going back to the previous project until I'm more comfortable with working on story-based games, which will probably mean doing a smaller story-based game first.
DeleteTo clarify, I'm probably going to do a linear game, but with very light story elements, and then if I feel I'm ready, I'll move on to the previous game, which was larger scale, and had a lot more characters and lore.
DeleteAnd I'll be here waiting for the day you do that. :)
DeleteWhen you get into creating lore you should try something like make a world and put several games in it. Play as different characters generally on either opposing factions or completely unrelated ones. Always liked developers that gave many sides of the story.
ReplyDeleteI guess the characters raping each other might be weird for continuity and whatnot, but meh. Game logic.
Bonus points for when you need to out out a small game quickly to make some money you can throw in a new minor character to add more to the lore you already have without needing to create an entirely new game.
DeleteIt depends on the game world,
DeleteSometimes the story depends on a particular world-origin or system of some kind. For instance, if in one story the source of all magic is a single object, it would clash if you needed a world where magic was only possible by pleasing one of many gods.
You can always use the excuse of multiple continents, or that sort of thing, however it can belittle end-of-world scenarios if you discover that the stakes were never as high as you thought.
Ever thought about making your games android 4.4+ compatible?
ReplyDeleteNot particularly..but in the future if it's simple enough to export on android as well, I'll look into that option.
DeleteHonestly I Would love to be able to play your games on the go and was going to ask you the same thing.
DeleteQuestion: when we buy it on DLsite do you get the same amount of money?
ReplyDeleteNope, I get less. DLsite screws over both western and japanese developers, unfortunately. I don't even get what I'm supposed to get. I get less than half of the sale price.
DeleteI guess that means we should all buy from you directly XD. Although I think I remember you answering a question like this long ago (or at least I think it was you) so I had already planned to pay directly.
DeleteYeah that's why most games on there are way overpriced. I don't like making excuses for pirating stuff but really, I'm not going to pay double for something just because DLsite want to be dickheads.
Deletehttp://overtureinteractive.blogspot.ca/p/donate.html
ReplyDeleteThere's his donation link, he hides it pretty well :P It sounds like it everyone wins if you pirate & donate
Jup, Kyrieru should make the donation page easier to find.
DeleteDon't worry, you don't look like a douchbag if you put the donation button at the top of your page. I think many people would donate because 5$ for a great game is pretty cheap.
And goddamnit, it's even 5 CANADIAN Dollars, that's cheap as hell haha :D
Please, let us donate money (more easily)
if the difference is going to come down to one week -- even if it came down to two or three weeks -- i'd think it'd be better to simply wait it out. people are lazy and don't want to deal with the "hassle" (lol) of updating and so forth.
ReplyDeletei'm advising him on what i think would be in his best interest, not yours.
DeleteYou used 'people' in your argument though. I'm one of those 'people' and I disagree with what your saying.
DeleteYou sound more like a spoiled ten year old then a 'person' I would take an opinion from. Why don't you get your diaper changed while you wait for the game. One person does not equal the entirety of the people, and as such is only one voice in many people. If you wish to argue the point you are but one of these people, I suggest you do it in a less tantrum throwing way.
Delete-Different Anonymous.
While his statement could be misconstrued as negativity, given the context and his response I think it's safe to say that he was merely exaggerating for comedic effect in order to demonstrate his point.
DeleteHe may not represent everyone, but his point was that "some" people don't care about CGs, which is true.
I'm going to have to borrow some money because I don't have any and I really want this fucking game. Can't wait, keep up the good work. :D
ReplyDeleteThe wait is killing me. It's gotten to the point where I'm checking the blog more than once a day, on the off chance you've released the game. I've yet to find anywhere else that combines the whole Excellently done platformers with Pixel hentai. Now hurry up so I can give you my money.
ReplyDelete+1, wallets are lining up for the big day. It's like something you'd happily pick up during St-Summersale.
DeleteI think Ky is delaying the game on purpose because he isn't ready to get hit by all the wads of cash we want to throw at him.
ReplyDeleteYou know you did something right when your fans are impatiently wanting to buy the game early with no preorder gimmicks.
It is better to delay a game to finish fixing it and stuff than releasing it half broken like a good portion of AAA developers do.
DeleteYou missed the point of my comment.
DeleteI hate to say it but I pirated your last two games, yet I enjoyed them so much I sought out your blog a couple months ago and after following your struggles for that short amount of time I'm compelled to buy your next game. I guess seeing how difficult and time consuming the process is made me consider what I was doing. I only wish I could pay you the $5 directly since apparently DL site rips off creators as you mentioned above.
ReplyDeleteYou can still buy those games off his site you know.
DeleteAlso if you read through a bit, someone posted his donation link as well. There's really not much stopping you from paying him just as you wish you could.
