It's an interesting way to make annoucements. Personally, I'd love to see more like this. (It also gives your character a bit more personality - however it does break the fourth wall a bit, so I guess it has its shortcomings as well)
I think one way to counter this may be to have a mascot character. That way the fourth wall aspect wouldn't matter. Oh well, I honestly wouldn't mind the current variation as well.
The fourth wall is the "wall" between fiction and reality. If a video game character references the real world, they are "breaking the fourth wall", because they are referencing something they shouldn't know about in their fictional world.
"Breaking the fourth wall" refers to characters either commenting about things they wouldn't know that apply to the real world, or directly speaking to/at/about the game's audience, etc.
It's like a character having meta-knowledge about real life/world.
The term's origin is from on stage acting where there'd be a wall behind the stage and on either side, being the first three walls. The fourth wall is the imaginary wall between the stage and the audience. Breaking the fourth wall originally was when a person on stage would either address or refer to the audience during a play.
I hope people don't take it that way. I think it's a good thing to take a breather and draw something fun every once in a while. Otherwise it can start to feel too much like a chore, and you typically end up not as happy with the end product when it's forced.
Besides getting mad about it ain't gonna do nothing but make people uncomfortable and depressed.
Option A) Get pissy at Kyrieru's perfectionist attitude that admittedly stalls game development and blame the comic instead of enjoying it... Option B) Take the awesome comic for what it is and pray he makes more. Many, many more.
Can I have option B good sir? Gotta keep doing that fun shit so you remember WHY you started this. Makes the wait less tedious for us too :3
Why can't you just tell us what progress youve made? Even if its jsut a small amount... People would be so much more willing to accept the pace of creation if you'd at least say "This past week I worked on X, and the week before that I had to tweak Y so that Z would function properly."
Hell, look at the Crisis Point game. Regular updates saying what was worked on and why it had to be done. Even if its jsut a small thing, it helps us to actually believe that youre working. Whether you like it or not you have a history, Kyrieru... Just give us something that actually talks about progress, dont jsut go "Believe me, I did stuff... I wont tell you what, why, how, or when... But I did a thing, I promise..." That doesnt benefit you or the consumer.
I don't it because every update would be the same. "I animated/changed an H-scene, did some level design and testing, tried making music, worked on enemy behavior". I work on everything a little at a time, and even when I do make something complete from start to finish, like an enemy, I wouldn't say what kind of creature it is, otherwise everything would be spoiled by the end -__-
Plus, every update would also have to include "I tried to work on X days but I couldn't because I had health issues", and before long it would sound like I was looking for pity or complaining about my circumstances all the time.
I'd rather come up with a solution for some secondary content. For example at some point I want to make a free game that I just add one new thing to every week, or do zone style pixel art animations. I do need to do "something", because once a demo is released, I tend to go quiet.
Crisis point also gets monetary support on a regular basis and people are paying to see the updates as they come out. Informing people about what you've done becomes more important in that case.
I don't it because every update would be the same. "I animated/changed an H-scene, did some level design and testing, tried making music, worked on enemy behavior". NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THAT. Much better than anything else you've posted
Instant gratification? This isnt even close to instant. I get that you want to defend Kyrieru and youre well within your rights to do so, but dont act like hes been working for no time at all and we all expect a finished game in a week... Its been a long ass time, Kyrieru knows that, I know that, everybody here knows that.
We dont want "constant updates," we want some fucking evidence that hes actually working on the game and not just bullshitting everybody while he stalls and uses the pre-order money to make his next car payment or some shit. He gives us absolutely nothing, then when people go "Well what have you done lately?" they get a big "Eat shit and stop pestering me" for their curiosity and troubles. If Kyrieru was sick half as often as he says he is in all these "updates" then he'd be bed ridden 29/30 days per month and living in a bloody hospital, we just want -something.-

Sorry you had some strawmen stuck in there, I took the liberty of plucking them out for you.
Now, tell me, specifically, what do you want to see? Do you want to see bi-weekly screenshots of the game? One piece of new art a month? And what if, all this time, he's been working on coding? Would you like him to give you snippits of code? Will that sate your appetite?
Please, be clear in what you want, because I'm not sure you understand just how monotonous and tedious game creation is, and how little "big" developers feed THEIR fans between games.
If you are one of the people that pre ordered, he has already offered a refund. You can't get anymore courteous than that.
I understand your enthusiasm, but you have to realize that game development is a slow, small gain processes. The simple game mechanics that you take for granted take hours/days to create, implement, refine, test.....
Hes an artiest that likes to change gears with inspiration. The sad part about this, is the "artwork" will take longer than initially planned. On the upside, we will get a more refined game that doesn't have a bunch of cut corners.
He has already released 2 games, so there is no reason to assume that he will not finish this one in time.
Feel bad for all these anons that have to deal with the folks sucking Kyrieru's shaft... They act like, because he's a game dev, that he should be given as much leeway as humanly possible. People need to grow up and look around at all these other devs making HIGHER QUALITY content, Future Fragments, Crisis Point, etc, and realize that its not hard to jsut give a god damned update on what you did. If you only did coding then fuck, tell us that, it isnt hard. When somebody jsut sits around and goes "Oh ya Ive been workin hard on the game, but nobody is allowed to know what Ive done, its all super secret... Oh and by the way Ive blown this game up multiple times and might still change it again because Im indecisive." Kyrieru even dropped down from higher res stuff because he didnt want to put in that much work... Should probably go 8-Bit to make it even less work, since this is too much.
Ive made games before and worked on others that have been Greenlighted and such, folks come in here going on and on about "you dont understand the minutia, its a long process, you have to give it time to make sure its perfect." Thats great, it does take time, but eventually you have to buckle down and do some fucking work. For games as small as what Kyrieru makes this amount of production time is damn near a joke, even if its just him because he stubbornly refuses aid, knowing full well that the decreased production time it would cause would help him immensely and easily off-set the lost profits from the split.
What people have seen of FF isn't really much of a game yet, or indicative of it's quality. Aside from graphics, Noaika is higher quality in just about every regard (after all, it's in alpha proof-of-concept), so no. You can sing it's praises after there's some real gameplay. As for Crisis point? If you say so. I haven't played it, but from what I've seen the pixel art isn't really on the same level, it's just higher resolution. So if by "all of these other devs" you mean all two of them and with incomplete games, then great.
Updates; I never said it's hard to give an update. I just don't want to spoil content beyond the demo. It's irrelevant to me how other people give updates on their content.
Yes I am indecisive. You got me.
The resolution is higher than both of my previous games, and a lower resolution in this case equates to smoother animation and more content, in terms of development time. Low resolution isn't inherently indicative of a lack of work; for example 8-bit, though not the same as resolution, wouldn't be less work if it meant you were going to do three times the content.
It's not difficult to get Greenlit on Steam (not anymore), so that doesn't really mean anything. What matters is if the games were well done.
"For games as small as Kyrieru makes". You mean my other games that were a fraction of the size and took a fraction of time? To talk about Noaika's length is to admit that you're making a lot of assumptions about it. The length of my previous projects have nothing in common with Noaika and it's development time.
Anything else? I mean, you didn't even make assumptions about my trips to the hospital, or my health. Judging from your comment, I assume you'd accuse me of missing work because of a cold or something.
Some of us are indie game dev's and/or in training and have a little knoledge about all the work that goes into a full game...... No knee-pads required -_-
Everyone that's complaining about lack of updates and pre-orders... This is how Kyrieru has always worked, and he has *always* produced work he has promised. When you pre-ordered Noaika you gave your money knowing full well how his development process works. You're paying for the end product, he's not obliged to accept your every demand just because you gave him a little sum of money. Money, by the way, which he's offered a refund on if you're not happy. Every developer works at different paces, with different methodologies and strategies, and in the case of indie developers there's also personal lives to consider: work, partners, friends, family, unforeseen circumstances. These sorts of games are only ever side-projects for most developers; they don't earn enough from the sales to justify not having a full-time job, so it's not exactly a priority.
Greenlight, mostly, is a platform like Kickstarter to get support for the development of a proof-of-concept or alpha version of a game, usually without the funding. It means jack-diddly-squat that you got several games Greenlit unless you show us an actual portfolio of your work.
Ps: Will you do in your Game one of these? (I just LOVE this things in porn/Hentai Games >_<): 1. Impregnation 2. Birth 3. Lesbian (since I am a lesbian myself = P) 4. Egglaying 5. Mutation (like transforming into the same race as the raper like ähhmmm well if for example a were Wolf rapes Noaika and she then transforms into a Wolf Girl for example = D)
As for if you'll ever see them together; Noaika is not set on Earth, whereas Kurovadis was. However, when I make another Kurovadis game I'll be starting from the beginning in order to flesh out the setting, so it's possible that it could be the same world/universe.
Twould be fun to see one of them as a Super Secret Mysterious Mastermind Final Boss in a game with second one as a protagonist. Or just to see'em co-op in final mission.
Btw. It seems that Noa slowly becomes a heroine just by herself, without any game need. When the product will be finished it's gonna be like "wow! i heard there will ba a VIDEO GAME about Noa! ^^".
I actually rather like things like this as opposed to constant, regular updates, it helps to flesh out the personality of characters outside of their often-stressed setting in-game, and gives an idea of constant progress without directly spoiling everything about the coming project. If I ever have time to get back to my project, I was thinking of something similar, using the engine itself to put together little skits where the mascot/main character starts to talk about progress, but usually goes off on a tangent, often due to interference by other characters.
Apologies if this comes off as backseat directing, but have you considered listing the multi-button moves somewhere in-game? It's probably not a big deal, but displaying bonus controls this way is both more dynamic and less spoilery. Something like this, maybe, where using arrow keys to select nodes displays their explanation? http://i.imgur.com/kaF7wor.png
I don't know, to be honest. I fine with the game listing the control when you gain the item, and then listing the control in the menu when you check what skills you have in a list.
Normally I'd say you don't need to list moves you start with because players will figure them out if they're simple, yet I know some people played Kurovadis without realizing there was melee -___-
...You could pound the ground? Really? (serious question)
For me, lack of controls explanation was a big problem in both Kurovadis and Eroico, especially in the latter. It would be great if a list of controls was put in the menu.
I feel like the reason people get the impression you aren't active is that they check your blog much more often than others, for example, and I can only speak for myself, I usually check your blog, then click the links to other blogs and use some of those other blogs' links (most notably Datanony's blog) to check all of those links, but the first one I usually check is yours because typing in the address is simple.
Not to say ease of access is the only reason I check, but its why this is the first blog I check when I'm looking for updates.
I dont bother to check, I just guesstimate when the next post i gonna come... NOW! With my powers I predict the next post will come in...... 2 weeks! (Maybe)
Really nice to see a new weapon coming along (and from the looks of it, a melee one!). Are you planning on adding more melee weapons/tricks? If so, can you at some point make a post about weapon balancing and the different things ou need to look for, balancing weapons on a melee and ranged perspective?
Also, really cool the comic-style post, it's really entertaining d(*-*) and I hope you can come with more of those in the future :)
Well, there's more than one melee weapon, and I plan on adding more. Perhaps I'll do a post about balancing them once I've done all of them. And yeah, some of them do have moves associated with them.
I might do more comic style posts. Could be fun to do it that way.
I smiled after reading this. A nice way to talk about the game without spoiling for sure. Though, now I have to be wary of picking up weapons in the game lol.
The fact you said you plan to add more stuff to the game now still means the game has quite a ways to go. I don't mind of course, games that have taken years to complete often have quite the story to tell and much to offer in terms of content. Hell, take another year or two, I'm sure it just means it'll be worth the weight.
By the way, how's the quota for three games this year coming along? :P
Better then you would think, actually. There's a small side project I've dabbled in over the past two months that I might release if I need something to hold people over, and there's also an H-game I programmed in about two days for a collab with another artist. (He's doing the graphics). If I release those before or after Noaika and it's all this year, then that would be three, technically. (Though neither of those are the games I intended to make when I said I wanted to make 3...)
As for adding more content to Noaika; I think when I release the updated demo, it will be pretty obvious why it's taking so much longer than I originally intended. But it will be worth it.
Man, the shota crowd is pretty vitriolic. Just a step below furries. Keep doing what you're doing, Kyrieru. Bought all of your games so far including Noika. Don't listen to the MGQ bandwagon, they've got tons of content to play through.
Now trying to find a game with heavy breeding/oviposition stuff with actual monsters/insects/etc. instead of just orcs. That's the real struggle. Ain't nothin' wrong with some of the more old fashioned and 'vanilla' stuff, though, when it's done well. And you've always done it well, so I think people just get all frustrated because they are really impatient and excited for Noika.
I'm sure there were other things that were said, but I couldn't pay attention to anything but Krekman saying "when I release the updated demo..."
Would you be willing to discuss what you're thinking about putting into the updated demo, and why?
And is it going to be released at the same time as the game as something that's more indicative of the final product than the current demo, or will it be released before the game?
I'm just sad I missed the chance to preorder, so I'm extra eager for news.
@first anon: I mean, I like shota (as protagonists) and furry stuff -__-.
I do plan on doing a bunch more monster girl related stuff. In the future it will probably be either 50/50 between a female and male protagonist, or like 1 monster girl game for every two games with a female protagonist.
@demo anon: I don't know yet. It might be released at the same time as the full game, but I may release it earlier once it's ready, and if I've 100% certain I'm not going to change it later (The layout, locations of items, etc). Either way, it will be far more representative of the game than the original demo.
The woobly creatures helped her up off the floor, apologized profusely for accidentally bumping into her, and sent her on her merry way...obviously. They're woobly creatures, not monsters, geeze.
I hope you set a limit of 3-4 melee weapons, if only for the fact that it'll be cumbersome to switch between a lot of weapons (assuming they have advancement/plot funcitonality and not just "it looks cool"). hopefully you implement some sort of quickswap system too, since going through a large menu to switch weapons is tedious. maybe something like shift-Q saves your current weapon, Q swaps to your saved weapon, W cycles to the next weapon, m toggles melee/ranged weapon selection. Or you could do the standard numberkey -> bound to a weapon thing.
I like the idea of a limited weapon type pool. What about upgrading the weapons, too? They could change appearance, range, and abilitues as you go on. They don't need a metroid-like UTILITY reason (fire spear for melting ice blocks, water whip for fire platforms) but they could have upgrades scattered about for you to find.
Hell, ky, here's an idea that'll delay things even more: you can scatter "blueprints" around the game world, and activating the blueprint puts you in an arena with the BP beta weapon in hand, and you have to kill 3 waves of enemies with that weapon in order to "unlock" that weapon upgrade. These would be modifications to the weapons you already have that make them play differently, like a weaker spreader-shot mod for pistol or less-knockback-quicker-attack-speed Razor mod for the lance. Non-essential modifications to weapons for a different type of playstyle.
Remember to back up your work on a USB or something, and frequently. I can't tell you the number of artists I've seen need to start over from scratch because of a computer error.
Very cute! Just wondering if that's her canon personality in the game or of it's just out of character for the purpose of the comic? Also does that "course of action" she was going to take have anything to do with the heart meter in the demo?
That aside though, if she really does have this cute, snappy and spritely little personality then I think that's pretty refreshing to have for a game like this. We didn't really see much from the last 2 protags so whether it's for the comic alone or not, it's a very pleasant change of pace!
To be honest, it's kind of a shame that there's no sound design associated with H-scenes, no climaxes, and no easy way to actually view the animations, because the animations themselves are freaking fantastic, and the game itself is neat. (Though a bit slow sometimes)
From what I hear, he had to finish things up quicker than he'd have liked due to medical issues, and he may go back and make changes retroactively. If he does, I'm looking forward to playing it. (Plus, maybe there will be an english translation by then...Mmmmmm).
Came to check out this blog after so much time only to see some kind of comic, and no updates. The maker thinks that it will satisfy the fans cuz' of no notible game updates as of late, to make the pain a bit lighter. For the time you were thinking in doing it and drawing it, I would have rather see you make a good excuse.
In all honesty, I think you're a bit lazy. It's like you have tons of ideas and want to do something and by the time you realise it you lose interest. That is why you won't offer a help with another cuz' you would be more pressuered to work quickly and be compeled by deadline.
Do not take these things as offense, as I do not see you that way. I love your art and your thoughts and your skills will only improve. But the speed will be your dawnfall. It's true that you don't owe us anything but people will not wait for you forever.
Kyrieru needs to do something, before he reaches the same lvl as an EA-employee.
@Kyrieru so your game takes long cause it has climax/moaning sounds? and Im pretty sure he will add a gallery later cause all his previous works are like gallerys, and he will add no sound, some of his "gallery-games" have it in discription: no sound,no music
so hes pretty serious about adding no sex sounds for some reason, but its better than any other 15 euro game in steam and when you clear all difficulties with 3 stars + grinding gear/costumes you spent hours of gameplay in it.
@3d guy: No? I'm not comparing his games to mine. All I was saying is that from the perspective of a player, I wish his game had sound effects for H-animations (not moans), and climax stages of animation. Sound doesn't take that long to make, so I wasn't implying that it's why he's faster.
@anon: Well, I do owe those who pre-ordered something. I owe them Noaika. Regardless of what happens in my life, or how long it takes, Noaika will be finished. I'm not just sitting around doing nothing all day -___-
Nah, I'm getting hate for making two decent small games in a relatively short amount of time, but making a long game in a much, much longer amount of time, and not showing screenshots or previews.
That, and not releasing a game for like two years, despite having worked on like 4.
Maybe, however people wouldn't be complaining if I was releasing games. At most, they would be complaining about the games themselves, which would be much better.
As a reply to 3d-stuff-guy; I have played a LOT of H-games, most of them were not fun, but had great or good H-elements, so i kept playing them, Kyrieru makes games that i at least feel are entertaining while having many good and some really great H-elements in them. I have tryed interbreed after reading this, and I must say that the game is interesting, but not fun! Personally, i dont really like the angry birds kind of gameplay, and think it is quite cheep for a gameplay, which perfectly well explains the difference in working speed. Yes Ky, does not release the games as fast as he (assuming you are a guy) properly can, allthough instead he actually reflects on how to improve game experience, while removing annoying game elements, that is something that even great mastodonts like Ubisoft doesn't practise.... That reflection is interesting, not only for H-games, but for all games in general. Great work Ky, and keep reflecting over these things!
TL:DR: Games like Interbreed might be a hell of a lot faster developed... It's just not fun, and lacks good H-elements.. unlike Kyrieru's games..
So you accepted that hes faster at least, and yes your games are different, but the only thing I wanted to compare is the working speed, I just dont like it when people think they are the best and there is a horde of Asskissers arround them so somebody needs to put a stop to that, of course your game will be awesome too, but I guess there will be no improvement on hentai side(we dont get any proof screens or something and demo shows the same stuff like in the old games)
Ps: And you get distracted by starting new projects which get abandoned, which is a really bad characteristic for a Game Autor.
Again, of the two of us, the one of us who actually gave him money isn't complaining.
And here you are getting pissed off that he's not giving you more updates on his game.
And saying that "we" word again, like you speak for "us" when the "asskissers" who think you're an idiot greatly outnumber you.
Gee it's almost as if people don't agree with your impatience and you can't act maturely enough to not continue to rant and call everyone asskissers while ignoring your own immaturity on the issue.
But noooooooo, there's a 0% chance you're being whiny and irrational.
Lol, if you think that "I" think I'm somehow great, you don't pay much attention to my opinion of my own games.
As for speed, it's difficult to compare. Our games are very different, so I'd have to see how much content is in the game, the nature of it, and how long it took him, to know if he's "faster" or not.
Also, I don't know how many times I'm going to have to say this, but I'm not trying to work as fast as possible right now anyway. I'm still dealing with some health problems, so I'm trying to take it slow and develop over a longer period of time. I made the mistake before of trying to work through health problems instead of dealing with them, which in turn made them worse and led to a trip the hospital that kind of almost killed me. So, I'm afraid people are going to have to just deal with that for a while.
As for improvement in hentai, I wouldn't use Noaika's demo to gauge the H-content. There's a much greater emphasis on multi-staged H-content and incorporating it into gameplay now then what was in the demo.
You won't be able to say it enough, because it's clear that a few people aren't trying to listen. They're not reading your comments before repeating the same complaints, and only listen for more things to complain about when you respond. That's not a conversation, so you have no responsibility to partake in it.
But then again I'm just an ass-kisser and you're just a procrastinating crook.
Thank god you can take critique well Ky and when it comes to your games I cant say I really have many complaints other than difficulty spikes that occurred with specific enemy types when they are introduced. Flying enemies in every game. Stop getting out of my reach you son of a gun! Even then I feel that would be more a "completely personal gripe" than a design point.
Don't take the whole god where is it too much to heart though its just clear there is an obvious interest in your work and that's clearly the main drive as to why they want more. Always a good sign.
On a personal note just wondering how you feel about the repure aria game and its I think sequel? Personally I loved them and they hit pretty much all the notes you needed to hit minus the whole "level design" I liked the metroidvania idea but holy crap some of those secrets I needed a guide (that and I don't speak or read a lick of Japanese)
Also wishing you well on your health problems take care and all that jazz. So many creators drive themselves to overworking. Its all about the schedules ~ And chocolate... lots of horrible disgusting sugary snacks mmmmm
About Repuria: In most cases the gameplay is pretty bad, the controls are kind of bad, and in many cases the tilesets are bad. BUT, what it lacks in those areas, it makes up for by being creative, weird, and just really interesting. It feels like an NES game with a bunch of really cryptic secrets, but it makes it really fun to explore and try stuff, because it feels like anything can happen. It lacks direction to the point of feeling alien in a good way. It helps that the enemies are all pretty neat (though the pixel art ranges from great to so-so), and there are a lot of cool interactions. Overall I enjoyed it, mores as an experience than as a game. I don't like his new one as much.
As for my game, yeah, flying enemies can be annoying. In the full game there are a few weapons that are more ideal for taking them out, and it's about using the right weapons for the right situation. (The only one that made it easier in the demo was the spread gun.)
Though I will say, it will never be the focus like that again, where it comes down to hitting it back and fourth zelda style. I'm sure there are cases where I might want to have a boss that requires you to hit their attack though.
Totally agree .... One thing that came to mind was the big breasted chick (pink one) who moved ironically to the above convo... like a bloody ping pong ball.
I didn't really like the new one all that much either but I do agree its interesting to me and I will always pick up his latest game. Having to pick up and place people fun idea to play around with but as a mechanic it felt hindering at best when you had to do it for the members of your team. If it was just the enemies you could pick up and move though I think that would have been better.
What are the big examples of hentai games that made you think... That's a really creative mechanic and either copied or implemented a similar thing. Also which game do you believe has the best way to distribute content? (For example the hentai on death, Knockdown mechanics, Beating the enemy) And why do you for the most part choose the knockdown as apposed to when you are the victor or when you straight up bite the bullet?
Don't ask me why im asking I honestly am just a bit curious as to your thoughts n game design as Ive been enjoying reading your past posts etc. xD
Creative mechanics in H-games? Well, The way charging works in Kurovadis is lifted from Viocide. Other than that, I haven't really copied much from H-games, the majority of my inspiration comes from mainstream games, old and new.
The best way to distribute H content depends on the game. I focus on knockdown because then player can see H-content when they want to, instead of going through the hassle of standing there and getting hit intentionally until they die. It's what I would want if I were playing an H-game. I also focus on knockdown/loss because everything in previous games was rape, so victory-sex wouldn't really fit the fetish. In Noaika there's some stuff that's initiated by the player, though.
I don't get all the entitled people comments. If they paid for the pre order and you didn't offer refunds, I would've understood some of the rage because they're paying customers, but since you graciously decided to offer refunds I can't understand why they think you owe them like regular updates and blah blah blah. Seriously. Some people think the world owes them something.
Going to go a little off tangent here after that rant, but I've kinda wanted to ask - are you Asian, Kyieru? (I know, random question)
If you're in Toronto I'd offer to buy you a drink or something but it'd probably be super awkward because of what I've done to your games like 10 million times
Ky just adding a more personal update to here having just played unholy jail complete... Backtracking to places where items just suddenly appeared for a reason I may have missed due to lack of native language barriers. Hot damn though thank you for they way you incentivise backtracking as it opens new areas .. not to just go there and then backtrack to where you were before.
Your picture kind of reminded me how inconsistent I was at drawing her arm-armor. I'd say the actual shape is a cylinder, and I kind of messed that up on like 80% of the panels -__-
Yeah, for arm-armor, I made the same kind of reflexion to myself. I used the inventory screen of Noaika for color and detail reference, so I was like : "Hmmm, the actual shape is a cylinder, but on his drawing it' a square based shape ... Well perhaps he changed the design, square shape works too ^^" So ... It's ok =)
May I ask you a redundant question. Progress of Noaika ? =p Well I don't ask for the %, but more for what remaining now. You know, what sprites remain to be done, etc ... Like a boss, an enemy, or perhaps a level ?
I was diagnosed with yet another case of "it won't kill you but there's no good solution for it so deal with it"
I started experimenting with pre-rendered/pixel art textured 3d for some of the traps and a part of one of the bosses in the game. It looks neat.
I've done a few commissions on the side to make some extra money (While it saved my ass at the time pre-orders didn't make me as much money as people think they did). There are also two potential small projects I might release to hold people over. One is a small game I programmed for someone else in a couple days (his art didn't take a few days), and a small project of my own based on existing engine work that I worked on here and there in case I need to release something to make money before Noaika is done (Makes me glad I didn't release all of my unreleased sprites). Both would be free to those who pre-ordered the game, if I end up releasing either of them.
I'm also considering doing a weekly H-scene of the people's choice. Basically anyone would respond with what series they want see an H-scene of, and I'd do a sprite animation of whichever comment get's the most responses. However I don't know what format it would be in, since I'd want to have sounds and stuff.
Other than "I made a bunch of stuff and health issues suck", that's about it.
...
The Finale of Danger 5 was disappointing but the series was good in general.
Perfect is the enemy of good enough - my guess is that a great many of us would just be glad to see the animations. No need for sound or extra fancy effects. It can be unpolished, without finishing touches and definitely-not-the-final-product, yet many would still like it I think. Hell, in such a state, the animations would make for great teasers.
Any recommendations for other sprite based acts ? Pretty much tried all on your sidebar and hoping well on the future games gonna buy a few actually. Big fan of demos :D
He made a lengthy post about it awhile back, decided not to do it, doesn't like pre-orders or anything like that. As i recall, the post had something to do with kreckman and patronionis. But yeah it's been brought up before and he rejected the idea, more or less.
To clarify, I'm not against patreon, but I'm against "me" having a patreon. Patreon is good for active content that wouldn't be financially viable otherwise (For example, a series of animations, or stand-alone artwork). However should I need money, I have the ability to make small products that I can sell (which is what I should have done when I needed money before), so there's no need for Patreon. The only reason to use it would be if I just wanted to make more money, which isn't high priority given that I make enough from games when I finish them.
Plus, I've already taken pre-orders for Noaika, so as far as I'm concerned I shouldn't be taking money for anything until Noaika is finished. If I end up needing to release a small product to stay on my feet, then it will be free for those who pre-ordered. It's bad enough that it's taking so long (mostly for health reasons), but spending time on another "product" that isn't Noaika isn't good.
The only time I would ever do a patreon is if I was putting aside a lot of time to make a game that I can't sell, and making it free for everyone. That said, times change, people change, maybe I'll have some reason to do it at some point, but other than greed, there would be no reason for me to do it now.
If I Make a game in 5 months ($8,000 at most for living expenses and misc stuff), over the course of a year, I can make at least $25,000-$30,000 from it. That's enough time to work on 2-3 games, or one large one. In either case, I'd be making more money then I'd be spending, by far.
Which just goes to show you how much of a fool I am for squandering the position I was in. Health issues aside, I made too many bad decisions. Hopefully with Noaika's scale, (and if I release small projects to tide me over), I'll make more than enough to bring myself back to square one, and I can take it from the top and not screw up this time -__-.
That said, that's why I don't need Patreon. As long as I get my shit straight after Noaika, my games should be more than enough to fund anything I want to make.
5 months would be for a game a bit bigger than Kurovadis. Noaika is far more than a little bigger. There will be more H-content in Noaika's demo than there was in the entirety of Kurovadis. Assuming my health improves in the future, 5 months is actually a modest estimate for something as simple as Kurovadis, especially since I have more code to work with than I did then.
Have you revised your pricing model for Noaika? I'd like to support you, and I recall you stating a price before that was seemingly pretty low. However, as the months roll by, you have stated how ridiculously large this game is going to be in comparison to your earlier titles, and I wonder if that's going to send your price out the roof. Not too experienced about all that, but i know a lot of titles on DLSite for example are huuuuuuugely expensive for some reason. I bought your other two games when they came out, for reference. Not that I demand an answer, just curious if your thoughts are changing regarding your price point or if you'll be sticking to fairly affordable/cheap.
Chances are that it would be $6 at most. However, it's also possible that I'll keep the price at $5, and then lower the price of smaller games from here on out. Or maybe I'll do both, and there will be $5 games that are somewhere in the middle; the size of Kurovadis, but with higher standards.
Booooooooooooooooooooo. Hisssssssssssssssssssssssss
ReplyDeleteI have to admit: I laughed.
ReplyDeleteNew spear weapon confirmed.
ReplyDeleteThis entire comic was pretty much just a convoluted way of saying there are other melee weapons in the game lol
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
DeleteIt's an interesting way to make annoucements. Personally, I'd love to see more like this. (It also gives your character a bit more personality - however it does break the fourth wall a bit, so I guess it has its shortcomings as well)
DeleteI think one way to counter this may be to have a mascot character. That way the fourth wall aspect wouldn't matter. Oh well, I honestly wouldn't mind the current variation as well.
please tell me! What iss the fourth wall? °.°
DeleteThe fourth wall is the "wall" between fiction and reality. If a video game character references the real world, they are "breaking the fourth wall", because they are referencing something they shouldn't know about in their fictional world.
DeleteWhat ky said.
Delete"Breaking the fourth wall" refers to characters either commenting about things they wouldn't know that apply to the real world, or directly speaking to/at/about the game's audience, etc.
DeleteI think (the weapon) looks more along the lines of a Naginata, to be more specific. Judging by the elongated, curved blade at the end of the weapon.
DeleteBrace for incoming vitriol, re: production time wasted trolling with comic.
ReplyDeleteI hope people don't take it that way. I think it's a good thing to take a breather and draw something fun every once in a while. Otherwise it can start to feel too much like a chore, and you typically end up not as happy with the end product when it's forced.
DeleteBesides getting mad about it ain't gonna do nothing but make people uncomfortable and depressed.
I'd rather get a status update than a comic~
DeleteI'd say this is a status update *in* a comic, confirming more melee weapons, and the possibility of threesome scenes.
DeleteThis is really nice! haha :D
ReplyDeleteWell that was fun keeep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteThat was the hottest Stick Figure Porn I've ever seen.
ReplyDelete10/10
Option A) Get pissy at Kyrieru's perfectionist attitude that admittedly stalls game development and blame the comic instead of enjoying it...
ReplyDeleteOption B) Take the awesome comic for what it is and pray he makes more.
ReplyDeleteHell, look at the Crisis Point game.
I work on everything a little at a time, and even when I do make something complete from start to finish, like an enemy, I wouldn't say what kind of creature it is, otherwise everything would be spoiled by the end -__-
DeletePlus, every update would also have to include "I tried to work on X days but I couldn't because I had health issues", and before long it would sound like I was looking for pity or complaining about my circumstances all the time.
DeleteI don't it because every update would be the same. "I animated/changed an H-scene, did some level design and testing, tried making music, worked on enemy behavior". NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THAT. Much better than anything else you've posted
DeleteI actually wouldn't mind that Kyrieru, and if you're concern about spoilers, just add a bigass spoiler tag in the beginning of the post.
DeleteHow about we all just settle the collective bundle of fucks down and browse the site less often?
DeleteThe watched pot takes forever to boil. Quit demanding instant gratification and constant updates.
DeleteWe dont want "constant updates," we want some fucking evidence that hes actually working on the game and not just bullshitting everybody while he stalls and uses the pre-order money to make his next car payment or some shit.

DeleteSorry you had some strawmen stuck in there, I took the liberty of plucking them out for you.
LOL @ AnonymousJune 21, 2015 at 3:39 AM.
DeleteYour post made my day :)
DeleteIve made games before and worked on others that have been Greenlighted and such, folks come in here going on and on about "you dont understand the minutia, its a long process, you have to give it time to make sure its perfect." Thats great, it does take time, but eventually you have to buckle down and do some fucking work. For games as small as what Kyrieru makes this amount of production time is damn near a joke, even if its just him because he stubbornly refuses aid, knowing full well that the decreased production time it would cause would help him immensely and easily off-set the lost profits from the split.
Well, from the top I suppose:
DeleteWhat people have seen of FF isn't really much of a game yet, or indicative of it's quality.
Sheesh -__-
@AnonymousJune 22, 2015 at 8:38 PM
DeleteOH HE'S A GAME DEV NOW.
THIS GUY'S LEGIT, EVERYONE LISTEN UP
@AnonymousJune 22, 2015 at 8:38 PM
DeleteSome of us are indie game dev's and/or in training and have a little knoledge about all the work that goes into a full game......
DeleteGreenlight, mostly, is a platform like Kickstarter to get support for the development of a proof-of-concept or alpha version of a game, usually without the funding. It means jack-diddly-squat that you got several games Greenlit unless you show us an actual portfolio of your work.
Your artwork has really improved, that was great.
ReplyDeleteGah she's so cute... Now I almost don't want to see bad things happen to her...
ReplyDeleteAnd the way she's drawn here really reminds me of the girl from Mischief Makers. Man that was a weird ass game.
Marina from Mischeif makers is a cool character design. The way I drew the robots in Noaika are actually based on how her legs are drawn.
DeleteHow Noa (That's her name) is drawn here, it's more or less just because it's a quick style. However even at normal size, she has small feet.
SHAKE SHAKE
DeleteBest kind of update.
ReplyDeleteYou should take up the habit of doing a short comic like this every 2 weeks or month.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't have to be elaborate or super time consuming, and it gives something for fans to chew on once in a while.
This Noaika girl is soooo cute!!! >.<
ReplyDeletePs: Will you do in your Game one of these? (I just LOVE this things in porn/Hentai Games >_<): 1. Impregnation 2. Birth 3. Lesbian (since I am a lesbian myself = P) 4. Egglaying 5. Mutation (like transforming into the same race as the raper like ähhmmm well if for example a were Wolf rapes Noaika and she then transforms into a Wolf Girl for example = D)
ReplyDeleteNoaika has all of those in one form or another.
Deleteman that was super cute :3
ReplyDeleteThanks for thinking about entertaining your fans!!
One question: what are the names of heroines from Noaika (it's Noaika i presume) and Kurovadis?
ReplyDeleteAnd.. um.. yeah.. second "one question": will we eventually see'em together?
I think the names you're after are:
DeleteNoa (?)
and form Kurovadis, Kuro.
Yup, Noa and Kuro.
DeleteAs for if you'll ever see them together; Noaika is not set on Earth, whereas Kurovadis was. However, when I make another Kurovadis game I'll be starting from the beginning in order to flesh out the setting, so it's possible that it could be the same world/universe.
So the guy's name in Eroico is Ero? >_>
DeleteWell, he doesn't have a name yet. Perhaps it would be something based on Ero, (eh-lo)
DeleteEruo
Eru
Erio
Erian
Erima
Eroa
Erown
Eros
Erota
Erowa
etc
Eros was the name I went with in the fanfiction thing from awhile ago.
DeleteTwould be fun to see one of them as a Super Secret Mysterious Mastermind Final Boss in a game with second one as a protagonist. Or just to see'em co-op in final mission.
DeleteBtw. It seems that Noa slowly becomes a heroine just by herself, without any game need. When the product will be finished it's gonna be like "wow! i heard there will ba a VIDEO GAME about Noa! ^^".
Maybe change it up and call him "Ico" instead.
DeleteIco might come across some copyright issues.
DeleteWhat about Roy?
DeleteYeah, that would make sense too.
DeleteThough it makes me think of Smash Bros and fire emblem -__-
Don't worry, some of us just imagine one of the Koopalings.
DeleteThere's also Eric or even Erico.
ReplyDeleteApologies if this comes off as backseat directing, but have you considered listing the multi-button moves somewhere in-game?
ReplyDeleteIt's probably not a big deal, but displaying bonus controls this way is both more dynamic and less spoilery. Something like this, maybe, where using arrow keys to select nodes displays their explanation? http://i.imgur.com/kaF7wor.png
I don't know, to be honest. I fine with the game listing the control when you gain the item, and then listing the control in the menu when you check what skills you have in a list.
DeleteNormally I'd say you don't need to list moves you start with because players will figure them out if they're simple, yet I know some people played Kurovadis without realizing there was melee -___-
Some people didn't know about pounding the ground until the final boss... xP
Delete...You could pound the ground? Really? (serious question)
DeleteFor me, lack of controls explanation was a big problem in both Kurovadis and Eroico, especially in the latter. It would be great if a list of controls was put in the menu.
Just a small consistency issue here, the last line of dialogue in the mini comic is the only one not in a speech bubble.
ReplyDeleteWould the male maincharacter act in the same way?
ReplyDeleteWell, the protagonist of Eroico would probably be more resigned to what happened, given the ending of that game.
DeleteUhm... what font is that?
ReplyDeletehttp://888toto.deviantart.com/art/Manga-and-comic-Fonts-261380252
DeleteAnother method would be to look at some translator FAQs, since there are common fonts that they use.
Thanks! Always looking for resources!
DeleteMade my day. You did.
ReplyDeletePlease watch warmly until it is ready.
Hm? Where? I don't know what you're talking about. It's clearly not there.
ReplyDelete...Never was...>_>
have you considered implementing any sort of ending system? for example a bad end if stuff happens to the PC way too many times.
ReplyDeleteLove the cartoon, now go and hide for another 2 months, we'll be here
ReplyDeleteI generally post 2-3 times per month -__-
DeleteI feel like the reason people get the impression you aren't active is that they check your blog much more often than others, for example, and I can only speak for myself, I usually check your blog, then click the links to other blogs and use some of those other blogs' links (most notably Datanony's blog) to check all of those links, but the first one I usually check is yours because typing in the address is simple.
DeleteNot to say ease of access is the only reason I check, but its why this is the first blog I check when I'm looking for updates.
I dont bother to check, I just guesstimate when the next post i gonna come... NOW! With my powers I predict the next post will come in...... 2 weeks! (Maybe)
DeleteWell I'm just going to sit here for a new post to come :3
ReplyDeleteoh! I forgot "to wait" :P

ReplyDeletesays year next blog
DeleteReally nice to see a new weapon coming along (and from the looks of it, a melee one!). Are you planning on adding more melee weapons/tricks? If so, can you at some point make a post about weapon balancing and the different things ou need to look for, balancing weapons on a melee and ranged perspective?
ReplyDeleteAlso, really cool the comic-style post, it's really entertaining d(*-*) and I hope you can come with more of those in the future :)
Well, there's more than one melee weapon, and I plan on adding more. Perhaps I'll do a post about balancing them once I've done all of them. And yeah, some of them do have moves associated with them.
DeleteI might do more comic style posts. Could be fun to do it that way.
I smiled after reading this. A nice way to talk about the game without spoiling for sure. Though, now I have to be wary of picking up weapons in the game lol.
ReplyDeleteThe fact you said you plan to add more stuff to the game now still means the game has quite a ways to go.
DeleteAs for adding more content to Noaika; I think when I release the updated demo, it will be pretty obvious why it's taking so much longer than I originally intended. But it will be worth it.
it will be pretty obvious why it's taking so much longer than I originally intended.
DeleteOh, wate... It's happening!
What's happening ?
DeleteWill one of these be like Eroico?
DeleteWell In terms of theme, neither of them are a male protagonist with monster girls, although there are a couple monster girls.
DeleteAnd dropped. Thank you and have fun doing the 0815 girl vs tentacles games. Bye
DeleteI would really have to hate money to drop Noaika in favour of something that took a few days.
DeleteMan, the shota crowd is pretty vitriolic. Just a step below furries. Keep doing what you're doing, Kyrieru. Bought all of your games so far including Noika. Don't listen to the MGQ bandwagon, they've got tons of content to play through.
DeleteNow trying to find a game with heavy breeding/oviposition stuff with actual monsters/insects/etc. instead of just orcs.
DeleteWould you be willing to discuss what you're thinking about putting into the updated demo, and why?
And is it going to be released at the same time as the game as something that's more indicative of the final product than the current demo, or will it be released before the game?
I'm just sad I missed the chance to preorder, so I'm extra eager for news.
@first anon: I mean, I like shota (as protagonists) and furry stuff -__-.
DeleteI do plan on doing a bunch more monster girl related stuff.
I know she said that nothing happened after that... but what really happened?
ReplyDeleteThe woobly creatures helped her up off the floor, apologized profusely for accidentally bumping into her, and sent her on her merry way...obviously. They're woobly creatures, not monsters, geeze.
DeleteI hope you set a limit of 3-4 melee weapons, if only for the fact that it'll be cumbersome to switch between a lot of weapons (assuming they have advancement/plot funcitonality and not just "it looks cool"). hopefully you implement some sort of quickswap system too, since going through a large menu to switch weapons is tedious. maybe something like shift-Q saves your current weapon, Q swaps to your saved weapon, W cycles to the next weapon, m toggles melee/ranged weapon selection. Or you could do the standard numberkey -> bound to a weapon thing.
Delete^^^ anon ^^^
DeleteI like the idea of a limited weapon type pool.
Cute. I have always wanted to do something like that on my blog, but lazyness is a powerful beast I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteSome advice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuHfVn_cfHU
DeleteWhat are you doing here? Get back to work. There are cats in need of rape out there.
DeleteHahaha that was adorable :D
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see more of these!
Kyrieru, I love you.
ReplyDeleteRemember to back up your work on a USB or something, and frequently. I can't tell you the number of artists I've seen need to start over from scratch because of a computer error.
ReplyDeleteI have a solid state drive and a separate hardrive I back stuff up on.
DeleteThat said, I should probably look into some kind of cloud service, too.
Very cute! Just wondering if that's her canon personality in the game or of it's just out of character for the purpose of the comic? Also does that "course of action" she was going to take have anything to do with the heart meter in the demo?
ReplyDeleteThat aside though, if she really does have this cute, snappy and spritely little personality then I think that's pretty refreshing to have for a game like this. We didn't really see much from the last 2 protags so whether it's for the comic alone or not, it's a very pleasant change of pace!
Other than reactions and mushots, it won't really be represented much in-game. Though you'll still see this side of her a little bit in those.
DeleteThat said, this is how I imagine her personality. So if she's ever included in a game with dialogue, this is pretty much what she would be like.
Hi its me your 3Dstuff-looks-like-crap guy!
ReplyDeleteComic makes no sense
the tobihime/interbreed guy gets his stuff done in high quality, and he is fast too.
at least you noticed your a stubborn Idiot
Ps:No emoticons in my comments so everybody rages like I really want to insult you
To be honest, it's kind of a shame that there's no sound design associated with H-scenes, no climaxes, and no easy way to actually view the animations, because the animations themselves are freaking fantastic, and the game itself is neat. (Though a bit slow sometimes)
DeleteFrom what I hear, he had to finish things up quicker than he'd have liked due to medical issues, and he may go back and make changes retroactively.
ReplyDeleteIn all honesty, I think you're a bit lazy.
3d-stuff-guy here,
Deleteexactly what I think!
Delete@anon: Well, I do owe those who pre-ordered something. I owe them Noaika. Regardless of what happens in my life, or how long it takes, Noaika will be finished. I'm not just sitting around doing nothing all day -___-
DeleteIt's crazy how much hate you get for making good games.
DeleteNah, I'm getting hate for making two decent small games in a relatively short amount of time, but making a long game in a much, much longer amount of time, and not showing screenshots or previews.
DeleteThat, and not releasing a game for like two years, despite having worked on like 4.
@Ky: I think it has more to do with your popularity. From what I've observed, haters make up for at least15% of an active fan base.
DeleteSo you should feel honored to have more haters :D
Maybe, however people wouldn't be complaining if I was releasing games. At most, they would be complaining about the games themselves, which would be much better.
DeleteAs a reply to 3d-stuff-guy; I have played a LOT of H-games, most of them were not fun, but had great or good H-elements, so i kept playing them, Kyrieru makes games that i at least feel are entertaining while having many good and some really great H-elements in them.
DeleteTL:DR: Games like Interbreed might be a hell of a lot faster developed... It's just not fun, and lacks good H-elements.. unlike Kyrieru's games..
All these salty people just sitting here complaining...
ReplyDeleteIt's almost as if you feel entitled to the game being completed by a certain date.
Take your time Kyrieru, I have faith it will be worth the wait.
Here is 3Dguy again^^
ReplyDeleteSo you accepted that hes faster at least, and yes your games are different, but the only thing I wanted to compare is the working speed, I just dont like it when people think they are the best and there is a horde of Asskissers arround them so somebody needs to put a stop to that, of course your game will be awesome too, but I guess there will be no improvement on hentai side(we dont get any proof screens or something and demo shows the same stuff like in the old games)
Ps: And you get distracted by starting new projects which get abandoned, which is a really bad characteristic for a Game Autor.
my last reply so far to this maybe next mainpost!
Again, of the two of us, the one of us who actually gave him money isn't complaining.
DeleteAnd here you are getting pissed off that he's not giving you more updates on his game.
ReplyDeleteAs for speed, it's difficult to compare.
DeleteBut then again I'm just an ass-kisser and you're just a procrastinating crook.
ReplyDeleteDon't take the whole god where is it too much to heart though its just clear there is an obvious interest in your work and that's clearly the main drive as to why they want more.
DeleteAs for my game, yeah, flying enemies can be annoying. In the full game there are a few weapons that are more ideal for taking them out, and it's about using the right weapons for the right situation. (The only one that made it easier in the demo was the spread gun.)
all i have to ask is no more ping pong bosses
DeleteNo promises....and it was pong!
DeleteThough I will say, it will never be the focus like that again, where it comes down to hitting it back and fourth zelda style. I'm sure there are cases where I might want to have a boss that requires you to hit their attack though.
Totally agree .... One thing that came to mind was the big breasted chick (pink one) who moved ironically to the above convo... like a bloody ping pong ball.
DeleteI didn't really like the new one all that much either but I do agree its interesting to me and I will always pick up his latest game.
DeleteThe best way to distribute H content depends on the game.
ReplyDeleteGoing to go a little off tangent here after that rant, but I've kinda wanted to ask - are you Asian, Kyieru? (I know, random question)
Nope, I'm Canadian.
DeleteAwww yea Canada ftw. Swell with Maple Syrup and Hockey.
DeleteIf you're in Toronto I'd offer to buy you a drink or something but it'd probably be super awkward because of what I've done to your games like 10 million times
DeleteNah, I'm from Nova Scotia. Also, Aat least it would be less awkward than meeting a porn star to which you've done the same -__-
DeleteKy just adding a more personal update to here having just played unholy jail complete... Backtracking to places where items just suddenly appeared for a reason I may have missed due to lack of native language barriers. Hot damn though thank you for they way you incentivise backtracking as it opens new areas .. not to just go there and then backtrack to where you were before.
ReplyDeleteI was bored this afternoon. So I redrew and colored the first picture of your short comic strip.
ReplyDeletehttp://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2015/27/1435681859-noaika.png
=D
Heh, looks neat ^_^
DeleteYour picture kind of reminded me how inconsistent I was at drawing her arm-armor. I'd say the actual shape is a cylinder, and I kind of messed that up on like 80% of the panels -__-
Thanks,
DeleteYeah, for arm-armor, I made the same kind of reflexion to myself. I used the inventory screen of Noaika for color and detail reference, so I was like : "Hmmm, the actual shape is a cylinder, but on his drawing it' a square based shape ... Well perhaps he changed the design, square shape works too ^^"
So ... It's ok =)
May I ask you a redundant question. Progress of Noaika ? =p
Well I don't ask for the %, but more for what remaining now. You know, what sprites remain to be done, etc ... Like a boss, an enemy, or perhaps a level ?
Obligatory

Looks like that was planned for it.

Happy Canada day!.....

ReplyDeleteSo what's new Kyrieru?
Well,
DeleteI was diagnosed with yet another case of "it won't kill you but there's no good solution for it so deal with it"
I started experimenting with pre-rendered/pixel art textured 3d for some of the traps and a part of one of the bosses in the game.
Other than "I made a bunch of stuff and health issues suck", that's about it.
...
The Finale of Danger 5 was disappointing but the series was good in general.
stop considering; do it
Deleterelease the side projects/kraken
XD Kraken! >= P
DeleteI hope you do decide to release them. I'm dying over here. Everyone is working on something... but nothing is coming out.
DeletePerfect is the enemy of good enough - my guess is that a great many of us would just be glad to see the animations. No need for sound or extra fancy effects. It can be unpolished, without finishing touches and definitely-not-the-final-product, yet many would still like it I think. Hell, in such a state, the animations would make for great teasers.
DeleteI can't understand english almost
ReplyDeletebut I felt one thing in this post
kawaii
Any recommendations for other sprite based acts ? Pretty much tried all on your sidebar and hoping well on the future games gonna buy a few actually. Big fan of demos :D
ReplyDeleteI recommend Inma no Ken (淫魔の拳) and Adventure of Anise (アニスの冒険). Erotic Eater (エロイーター) is also good.
DeleteKyrieru have you thought about using Patreon?
ReplyDeleteI came here to post this, I'm surprised you haven't started one yet.
DeleteHe made a lengthy post about it awhile back, decided not to do it, doesn't like pre-orders or anything like that. As i recall, the post had something to do with kreckman and patronionis. But yeah it's been brought up before and he rejected the idea, more or less.
DeleteTo clarify, I'm not against patreon, but I'm against "me" having a patreon.
DeletePlus, I've already taken pre-orders for Noaika, so as far as I'm concerned I shouldn't be taking money for anything until Noaika is finished.
If you had a patreon you could focus on bigger projects though.
DeletePatreon is a terrible way to fund a game, it gives incentive to work slower.
DeleteWell, look at it this way,
DeleteIf I Make a game in 5 months ($8,000 at most for living expenses and misc stuff), over the course of a year, I can make at least $25,000-$30,000 from it.
You make a game in 5 month?
DeleteMight need correction there , how about in 50 month?
Atleast at this rate that is.... lol
DeleteKreckster,
DeleteHave you revised your pricing model for Noaika?
DeleteI don't know for sure yet, though.
I salute you, for giving us quality hentai games (I know it sounds awkward but just accepT MY COMPLIMENT)
ReplyDeleteFine, fine. Put it in the jar with the others.
DeleteI'll open the jar when I think I deserve it more - . -
So never?
Delete
