I guess the new canon is that Kyrieru is a triangle that somehow gained sentience. The delays are understandable; it's hard to work quickly with only three sides. And no arms.
How does something like that happen? Jeez, Kyrieru, it's like you have the worst luck when it comes to yourself or your work. Have to tough it all out before your magic can sell.
Dunno if you've got a replacement yet, but typically if there is no damage on the card (the picture looks like artifacts on the screen, so there shouldn't be) you can contact the manufacturer directly and get it replaced, it can take some time, but it beats the hell out of buying a new card
Haha, well, while, I appreciate the notion, best case scenario I'll work something out with customer support, since it appears as though the failure may have been caused by the Radeon Crimson drivers. If I can get a replacement card through escalating the case, I'd be fine with that, though I doubt they'll be so kind.
In the case that they won't replace it, I'll probably just buy something better than what I had, since it would be cheaper than getting the same thing again. I don't see myself getting anything with less performance than what I had, though.
Luckily I made an extra $500 from DLsite's 50% campaign, so I should be able to afford a replacement. If I'm spending anything it may as well be an upgrade, and the integrated graphics on my motherboard still enable me to use GM, until then.
It amazes me that you're still getting substantial income from your two previous games. I'm not saying they're bad or anything, it's just been so long. It's really interesting!
Hey just a question: Pixel Factory, you know thw guy from Parasite in City (an awesome Game) is he dead or something like that? There is no sign of Live since . . . well . . . AGES! I want him back in front of the Pc since I want to see more new stuff for Parasite in City . . . = /
He is "alive". From what I understand from his posts on ulmf, he hasn't been doing well earning as a game dev, so he is evaluating his options and is busy getting his real life sorted.
^ No, he's actually referring to South Korea, believe it or not. Recently their government has been getting heavily into feminist propaganda and making up stupid laws regarding fictional depictions of women (it comes from trying to crank down on lolicon as child pornography, but has gone further and broadened the definition to anything youthful pretty much) and such. It is a lot more serious than you would think, "full dystopian" is fairly accurate, taking away the cyberpunk part. They already had heavy regulations regarding videogames, and they're frowned upon there, which is ironic, I know.
Japan's only narrowly avoided the same thing over the course of the past few years. They seem to have taken a worse route in day-to-day life than in fiction policing, though. Now that I think about it, isn't Canada a little iffy on all of this?
Creepy stuff, thinking about how close these things are to tipping over at any given moment.
There was a case in Alberta IIRC where a man was charged for importing lolicon manga.
The guy lost by default when he plead guilty I believe the story goes.
However I have my doubts about this case as I could not find any news paper articles on it, only a wikipedia article and some dead citation links to NP articles that supposedly existed.
@AnonymousFebruary 8, 2016 at 5:13 AM, or anyone that wants to answer.
Can someone post a link to news articles related to this?
Not saying that anyone here is lying, but I find this really hard to believe. Considering that most South Korean MMO's are less censored than western localization's.
Hey Mr.Kyrieru if your looking for new graphic card why not lease to own from cutting edge gamer(http://www.businessinsider.com/life-is-hard-for-south-koreas-internet-porn-cops-2012-12). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wkg_rUgSrQU
Interesting. Let me ask you this. If the team who made that game came to you. For an advise on how to improve the game. What advise would you give them and why?
There's too much to list. I kind of get the feeling that they weren't really trying to make a great game to begin with. I think they just wanted to release a quick product that met all the minimum requirements.
...Pretty much. Although to be honest, doing things right isn't that much more work than doing things wrong when it comes to stuff like controls, so perhaps I'm giving them too much credit.
No your giving them the right amount. When you play a game like (http://www.dlsite.com/ecchi-eng/work/=/product_id/RE170461.html). Where it take 5 mintutes to figure out the controls bad camera angles not seen since the ps1 era. Well let just say that Orgakill could been worse. Although it should of been better then what it is now.
By the way don't take my word for it. Give it a try(http://www.dlsite.com/ecchi-eng/work/=/product_id/RE170461.html). An you see what I mean it could be worse.
Will look at it this a lot games that come on dlsite is terrible. When you have games that come out that not that terrible they tend to sale. Think of it this you have a choice of eating a literal shit sandwich or moldy bread. Which one will you pick?
Heh, nah. Even if someone wanted to donate for such a thing, there'd be no reason to. I could more than afford it just by doing a Patreon animation. If ever I can't afford something, I have only myself to blame.
Right now I'm waiting for an answer from customer support. There was a driver issue that caused the card's failure, so it's possible that I may be able to get it replaced. I'll have to wait and see, though.
On an unrelated note, if you're able to put together a small demo that appears to be the game's actual release for a while into it (until a troll ending or something occurs) and release it on April 1st, the reaction to it would probably amplify any press it would get by default. Just throwing that out there.
there's just 1 problem with that, Pixel Factorys blog has been dead for over a year now. The last sign of life was the approval of a comment on january 6th 2015. people have theories as to why there has been no activity but there is nothing confirmed. some of us have just been asking other Hdevs, just in case they know anything
it seems like Pixel factory is still around coz i posted a dlsite review of parasite in city and it was not only accepted by pixel factory but pixel factory even edited the title coz I said in the title it was a shame that the sequel seems dead and that part was cut from the review title
@anonymous Are they? I didn't know that dlsite dealt with the reviews, that sucks. Although it only be up to the author (Pixel Factory) to accept the review though? even if it gets edited by dlsite?
Computer problems are the bane of small/one-man dev teams. Actual use of computational resources results in them wearing out, and with small teams, it's more noticeable because so much depends on singular people. Same with the health problems, really. If it was a large team with one person suffering from issues, it wouldn't have been news. In any case, it doesn't take as much as people think to screw a computer up. Mostly up to luck and how often it's moved, or the environment it's in. Well...and company. There're a few that you just shouldn't buy anything from.
At least he didn't lose files to a fried hard drive. Seen that happen to more than one project...
He commented on this post 1 week ago. He's said in the past that his health issue is nothing life-threatening, just something that keeps him from working (maybe carpal tunnel, who knows). Your concern is unwarranted. Besides, if his computer is still down then there's nothing to update about.
Every time I want to get mad, I play Noaika's demo and say, "This will be great" but it's taking forever to get here. One of my friends passed away during this time. If he was a fan, (not sure, never asked him) he never got to see it.
Think of it as Final Fantasy VS. I read somewhere that a guy was a virgin in high school when the game was announced, and today he is married with children... And Squenix has a full staff and budget.
Sad to hear that. While I can think of a lot more important things than an H-game to be sad about missing, It doesn't make it any less depressing to think about...Makes me think about dev Studios, and how often there are names in the credits of staff who passed away during development.
I feel like if you posted a non-spoiler screenshot once in a while, people would complain less. Even if it's an image of random mechanical bits in GameMaker. Something to remind everyone that the game does actually exist in some form.
VC?
ReplyDeleteVideo card, I t hink.

ReplyDeleteYeah, I contacted Sapphire and AMD. hopefully one of them will throw me a bone -__-
Deleteoh well , it actually a hardware then.

DeleteIs he based in Korea? Because they've gone full dystopian cyberpunk and are jailing all pornography makers.
Delete@AnonymousFebruary 8, 2016 at 5:13 AM
DeleteAre you sure that's not North Korea? I find it hard to believe that the MMO capital of the world would be against erotic artwork.....
^

DeleteWhat do you think of this game? (http://www.dlsite.com/ecchi-eng/work/=/product_id/RE157957.html)?
DeleteI don't think it's very good.
DeleteIt's also the game I was playing when my graphics card first failed, so I'm holding a grudge.
Interesting. Let me ask you this. If the team who made that game came to you. For an advise on how to improve the game. What advise would you give them and why?

Deletewell...majority judgement , and well...I rather pick a small plant's leaf that tend to grow around.
I am an eccentric billionaire who will happily paypal you $200 for a new graphics card

Man I'd really like to play a new demo or something from Kyrieru. Any idea when this may happen?
ReplyDeleteThis is what I've been thinking. It'd be nice to get a glimpse of what the graphical update plays like.
DeleteKyrieru, AMD doesn't make good graphics cards for over 350$
ReplyDeleteWhy?
BECAUSE THIS VIDEO EXPLAINS WHAT HAPPENED:
